silicone, gel implants, unlike ( overfilled ) saline implants, are essentially 'moldable jello' that will conform to the overall shape of the existing breast tissue ... and especially so when placed under the muscle. So the observation that her augmented breasts have the same shape as her original breasts is not surprising.
Generally speaking, post-op swelling results in augmented breasts being as big is they will ever be. Granted that implant 'settling' i.e. breast tissue relaxing a few weeks post-op can allow the lower portion of the breasts to get larger ( while the upper portion gets smaller ).
As a girl that has silicone gel implants, I can say that mine definitely looked like "inflated versions of my old ones" for the first two weeks or so at least too. It's common to go through the "they're not big enough" phase in the beginning. I went through it early on too..but I am SO happy with mine and how they settled , the perfect size. I love them not looking too big and fake for my frame. I'm sure in no longer than 6 months she'll be absolutely loving the size, and they'll look like she expected. Hope that helps!

They look sort of like what mine did right after surgery, and I wasn't happy with them then either. I had borderline a/b cups and got 450cc and 500cc silicone unders. They don't look "big" from the front, but if you focus on what they look like from the side, I think it'll give you a better idea of what is going to happen. See how high up they look now? Right now, her chest probably feels crazy tight; I know mine did. Once some of the swelling goes down, the skin stretches, and the muscle relaxes again, the implant is going to drop farther down and look like an actual larger breast. When mine were first done, I felt like I had just paid $5k to have someone shove stuffing into the same sized container with no other results, like my breasts were just really tight and full but not noticeably larger. But they eventually dropped and I went from a 34B to a 34DDD. (Though they look more like DD cups to me.) Not a single night goes by at work where someone I work with doesn't ask if they're real/how much/who my doctor is, or a customer comes up to tell me I have the best boobs in the club. If you had told me that the first few days after surgery, I would have punched you (or kicked you in the face since my chest muscles were useless) for mocking my unsatisfactory implants.
My breasts weren't really rounded and pretty before surgery, so the shape and weight of the implant did change their shape some, but girls with this type of implant generally wind up with very similarly shaped breasts as before, with size as the only difference. That's totally normal, but I think her breast shape is perfectly fine to begin with, and that she'll be happy with the implants if she gives them more time.
I have 550cc silicone unders, so I can speak from my personal experience.
Mine looked a lot like hers at first, just kind of weird with a lot of top boob. When I dropped I gained about 2 cup sizes. I don't think the volume actually increased, but having the implant be centered instead of up by my collar bone made them look a lot bigger (and measure bigger since I measure around the nipple).
All the surgeons I talked to said that with silicone they would look like bigger, perkier versions of my old boobs. It's definitely true for me. I don't mind, because they are bigger and perkier!
With 450ccs, it should end up being a pretty big difference. It's really easy to get discouraged at first though, since they look so weird. I would say to try not to form a opinion about them for 2-3 months, maybe longer depending on how fast they drop. Judging from those pictures, she is going to have BIG boobs when they drop (not too big for her frame though!). I would guess she will end up measuring around a 28FF-G (same volume as a 34DD-E).
