Okay, my mind is BLOWN, so I have to post this--
You guys know how Cityvibe will throw up one of your ads as a "free promotion"? And then give you the option to renew for a discount? I haven't paid for an ad on CV for over a year, and every couple months or so they will repost my old ad in the most basic section for a week for free.
Well, this time around I got the regular email about the free promotion. I'm taking some time off while recovering from surgery (boobies, yay!), and using this time to re-do my entire website and all ads anyway. I decide to login to CV to delete the ad...
...But I can't get into my account! I recover my password...I'm typing it in correctly, but it still isn't working. I call CV and find out that my account has been marked as inactive. Um, okay. But here's why...
Apparently this is a "new thing they are trying"-- When CV decides to post the week-long "free promotion" ad for you, they also LOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT. As soon as the ad runs for the week, your account is active again. Excuse me, but where the F--- is the logic in that?! I couldn't believe it, and yes, I kept asking the nice woman on the phone questions to make sure I was understanding her correctly. When the free, shitty, basic ad is up, the provider is unable to login at all...unable to make changes to the ad, delete the ad, even VIEW the ad. The woman on the phone said that we can call in and have them make the changes. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic, but I just cannot understand how anyone could think that is a good idea. I had the woman delete my ads, and I asked her to forward my opinion and input on this "new feature": I don't give a F--- about a free ad. Being locked out of my account is not cool.
She agreed to delete my ads, and now I'm able to login to my account.
Wow. I'm dying to know if anyone else has experienced this yet. Really though, am I the only one who thinks this logic is totally messed up?

We used to get a lot of business from them in LA but now it's crickets! It's amazing how quickly it turned bad. It seemed once they started their own review site everything went downhill!
