Default Bus-casual work attire for the girl who can't wear sleeves

I've recently been hired and started training for my vanilla job and I've got a dilemma. I am required to dress business casual for the most part and I get too hot wearing heavy garments and long sleeves and try to stick to wearing cotton and sitting by a fan/vent or having the window open a crack so I can get away with it.

Generally I wear pencil skirts and dresses, with a light blowse or shirt that can breathe, but I'd probably be most comfortable in a tank top or tube top. I manage to keep a blazer or a light sweater over to cover my shoulders but its still too hot! LoL

I want to be taken seriously and be professional in this environment so I want to keep my shoulders covered and not appear to be dressing too sexy.

does anyone else have this issue or any suggestions for going about it?

I was going to suggest cardigans or sleeved tops, but it sounds like light fabrics aren't helping you much. Can you get a small fan for your desk so you've always got some cool air shooting your way? Keep a glass of ice cold water on hand as well to stay hydrated and cool.

I work in an office and some of the female employees wear sleeveless tops or dresses. I think that as long as you do a good job, people will take you seriously.

There are some styles of really wide-shouldered tank tops in nice dressy looks. Check places like Macy's and Dillards.
