    Default Daytime job

Hi. I just signed up so if I overlooked something, please be kind
I really want to be a stripper. For personal reasons, not for the money. I have a regular daytime job where I work in an office from 9-5, Monday through Friday.
Is it possible to dance when you have a full time job? Since I have like zero experience, will clubs (if they hire me) put me on day shift?
I live in LA and there are a lot of clubs here btw.

Idk anything abt L.A. In particular, but dancing tends to give you a lot of scheduling flexibility. You could maintain your day job & just dance Fri & Sat nites, for example. As to whether you would immediately be stuck on dayshift given your lack of exp, it will depend on the individual club. Even when I first started I nvr had any problem getting put on nite shift.

what are your personal reasons for dancing?

id recommend telling them that youre experienced. and most clubs will stick you on nights or let you work whenever, if one doesn't then move on to the next.

    Charlotte, that's a long story

    Thanks for the responses ladies!

But if I tell them I'm experienced, won't they find out I'm really not?

Hmm, it's possible that they could tell you might be a new dancer. You could say that you danced years ago and have gotten a bit rusty. It depends on the club, some of them don't care if it's your first time. But a lot of upscale type clubs usually prefer girls with some experience.

I am curious to know your reasons as well being that your number 1 reason should be CASH.
I think working Fri&Sat night or even just Sat night would be great. Do you WANT dayshift or are you just worried that that's what you're going to get because your a newb?

    Sansonnet , yeah that's what I figured.
I'm worried I will get dayshift because I'm new, but I won't be able to do that because of my other job. I can only do nights and weekends.

As for my reasons, number 1 is I've always wanted to do it but never had the balls lol then I dated some idiot who was always going to strip clubs and I admit I was jealous. So I thought screw it, I can do this too. Cash is the other big reason, not gonna lie I live in LA by myself, rent is crazy expensive here and even though my job pays pretty well I still struggle sometimes. I am divorced, my family lives in Europe, so it's not always easy.

I just wanted to add that even though cash is a big motivator, it is not uncommon for women in this industry to also do it for other reasons.

I wasn't aware of that in the past but after I started consulting a psychiatrist, I realized money wasn't the main reason I was doing this. I am not really close with my family members, I don't have much friends. When people approach me I tend to push them away because I've been hurt a lot in the past... Dancing helped me not feel so lonely anymore without risking being emotionally hurt because I can detach myself from work. I get the attention I normally don't get in my every day life.... And of course while making good money.

To answer your questions, if they won't let you work night shift you could always try week-end day shifts to start? I don't know much about LA but I didn't have trouble working night shifts either when I first started.... I also study full-time while working a vanilla job so it's totally feasible! Good luck.

Thanks so much Stacey. It's good to know I'm not the only one. And I think weekend day shift is a good idea.
