    Default Freechat: talking vs typing

This mostly refers to SM, but can apply to other freechat sites, too.

1)Talking or typing in free zone? SM guidelines strongly recommends that models "get rid of their keyboards", but there are alwayd people who have no sound. You also can't say things privately because everyone else hears it, and there's much confusion because one never knows who you were addressing - moreso because most guys' screennames are unreadable (like qwertasdf) or designed to make you sound like an idiot (like Ifuckdonkeys). On the other hand, talking doesn't look boring or make people think you work on several sites at a time or your feed is recorded.
2)Do you greet everyone on entering or only when they talk to you? Greeting everyone sounds like a good idea in terms of politeness and is recommended by the site guidelines, too - but people pop in and out so often it makes the model sound like a parrot who knows no words other than "hi", "hello" and "how are you".
    3) Do you address everyone by screennames? How do you deal with unreadable/offensive screennames once you have to address the members?

    1) I type to people who have not given me money ever and I speak in voice to people who have given me money in the past.
2)I don't greet anyone by their name unless they have given me money before.
    3) Hmmm.....I actually never had a regular tipper with an offensive name. Lucky!

I actually don't recommend anyone doing things the same way I do. LOL! I have a really weird hustle so I am not sure that my answers will end up being beneficial to anyone else.

I greet everyone who comes into my free chat. If they have an offensive name like, 'Daddy', I'll just say, 'Hi, D!'.

    1. I might break a nail typing, too much on my stress area and if I break one, Im pissed.

    2. nope, dont greet unless they are regs. Usually if I say hi they leave and I wasted time saying hi.

    3. some I do , some I do not. Offensive screenames I just ignore, they want attention for freeninetyfree. Aint happening , its a way of getting "free" humiliation

I talk because if I would type they'd just hear the constant clicks on my keyboard.
I will greet about 50% of the guys that come in, only really striking up somewhat detailed conversation with those who have paid.
If a guy tells me he has no sound I will type greet him and answer 1-2 questions before I suggest private and ignore after that... mainly because if I can get them to go private I won't have to moan loud or annoying shit like that.

    1) I talk. It's easier than typing for me. Plus I hate making typos, so I will always take the time to correct what I've typed. Which is ridiculous when you have 10 guys talking at the same time who aren't even making an effort to spell correctly.

    2) I don't greet everyone, and I don't respond to everyone either. I only greet people when they actually start off with a "hi." Anyone who gives me a compliment, I say thank you, but no more than that. Anyone who gives me a ridiculous request without paying gets ignored. Even if I see my regs come in and not talk, I won't greet them first, I will always let them say hello first.

    3) If people have stupid screen names that contain a bunch of obscene words, I will pick one. The least offensive one. So if it's "bigdaddyscock" I'll call him "big." If he's called "Ifuckdonkeys" I'll call him "donkey." If his name is "wsdlfk" I'll call them "WS." Although I'd be stuck if some guy was called "PussyCock" but usually, those guys requests things without paying; ignore.

    1) Talking, trying to type to each individual is exhausting. Plus I rely enormously on tone of voice, laughter, spontaneous mini-tangents... things that don't really translate to text. If a guy can't afford a $10 pair of earbuds I'm not about to reward him with more than his fair share of time and attention. If I'm not busy I'll type out that it wouldn't be fair to my other customers and I'd be happy to type in exclusive. I don't really feel the need to say anything privately, if they want to talk privately they can take me private. I greet most everyone, tbh I have a ball trying to pronounce some usernames. I make a big production out of it. Offensive names get ignored, over-sexualized names get said in this over-enunciated, totally unsexy voice, like maybe I'm making fun of them. Or am I?

    2) If it's super busy I'll wait for them to stay a minute, or if I'm talking I'll try to finish my train of thought. But otherwise, why not? It's better than silence (for my hustle.) Hell, half the time I'm greeting people who aren't even there.

    3) Guys with offensive or really vulgar names never stick around or display "potential paying customer" behavior so it's not an issue. Keyboard-mash names either get shortened or, if my spidey sense is tingling, I might ask their name.

Verbal communication plays suuuch a huge part in how we connect with other people. Your voice can be an incredibly valuable tool, especially if (like me) your hustle relies on projecting a very personal, girl next door vibe.

Actually I have my sound off. If it's on they'll either hear my music or whatever I'm watching. I used to type to everyone and I hated the guy that used to come in with " I have no sound" he was always broke and wanted to turn free chat into facebook. Shit got tired fast.

Now I ignore them all. Anyone that wants to spend doesn't really need a conversation. They can get that in private or tip. I turn my music/show off when someone tips and then I put on my sound. I'm rewarding good behavior.

The site I'm on has a no music rule so it's incredibly awkward to hear my own typing or just any typical sound that I wouldn't notice on any other site. Gurgling digestion sounds are really not sexy lol

There are times I'll put my sound on just so they can hear the show I'm watching. It's a nice way of saying " you're not spending then I'll occupy myself with something fun". Guys hate to be ignored but I only listen out for the chime of $$$ .

Also some guys used to say mmm you have a sexy voice blah blah... So I've found a way to make the no music rule a benefit to me. I have to find a way to stay awake so it's either guys are tipping for a show or I'm going to watch something or listen to music with the sound off. I put sound on in private and mute everything else.

    Good thread
I usually alternate talking with typing, because I never sure if they are listening to me...so if someone says "hello" to me, I type "hello, how r u" and speak about general things.
About greet everyone...I´m trying a different way now, because I used to say hello "nickhere" to everyone, but I realize that for some reason, they leave as soon I say their name, so now I just answer when they talk to me first, so I guess greet everyone maybe sounds a bit pushy.
About offensive names...I cant remember any client with some offensive nickname, anyway as soon as I got a private with someone, the first thing to ask is his name and I write it in notes, and when I see him again in freechat, if he has a funny/weird/offensive name I just call him by his name.

I talk to eeeeeeeeeveryone verbally.. I figure it helps me create more of a character and use my voice for the hustle.

The only times I just type are usually when I'm too tired or too pissed off with freeloaders to make mouth-words, lol.

I cam without audio so I just type 'Hi, how are you?' to anyone that enters my room. Most will ask me back. I'll ask for their names to take note. Make small talk for about a minute or two then it's down to business. I'm a novelty, a fetish so I can get away with not talking!

I always recommend using sound if you have the option. You can make money without it, and pretty good money at that but you will likely be making more with audio. So if you have the option to use it, do so! If they have a crazy username I just say "Hi there!" or use part of their name. If their username is something really offensive (pedo related, racist etc) I ban because I don't want to deal with that BS.

    1) I only type if someone has a show request or topic that I wont discuss openly in free chat.
    2) I greet mostly regulars or just say "hi everyone".
    3) If someone has a stupid name, I'll say it if I can pronounce it.
