    Default kitty advice needed!

so my little voodoo is getting bigger now, but he's still very much a kitten at heart, and wants to explore everything and hunt! my apt is tiny and i know he gets bored, but i can't have him roaming around outside alone! i live in an apt that turns out to be not pet-friendly( didn't realize this when i first got him, the rental agreement says nothing about pets) , and there are predators outside ..i don't want him getting lost either
but he's destroying everything in the house he's so bored. i let him outside for a quick second just now, supervise of course, and since then he's been mewing at the door and clawing at it i hate having him cooped up like this, he is a creature of the night! haha. what would be a good compromise? wish i could just put a leash on him.
my father always hated to see my childhood pets locked in cages so he let them "run around", but obviously they all got eaten and lose because of that..don't want that happening to my kitty

Actually, a leash is an option. You just have to get a good harness to go with it, since cats can be very skittish outside and slipping out of a regular collar would be a bad situation. Definitely don't let him outside alone. The average lifespan for an outdoor or indoor/outdoor cat is way shorter than an indoor-only cat. So many things can happen to them, and people for some reason often enjoy being cruel to cats in particular

Also, spending 30 minutes or so playing with him indoors might help. Mine play fetch. They also love boxes and cat trees.

Had a cat + dumbass bf + small apt when I was in uni. Used to play the little laser lite off the walls for the cat, which I found hilarious but also kinda cruel since he'll nvr ever catch it - but that beat the bf's preference of letting him come&go as he pleased. I agree, too many predators to let them out alone no matter how badass they think they are.

I learnt very early on that vibrators weren't my thing, so (after having sanitised the bejeezus out of it)I let the cat have a go w/ mine. It was actually a gag gift that my bf had gotten me, knowing I don't care for them, so it was one of those freaky double-headed, multi-textured & multi-setting contraptions that just ... Anyway, the cat was thoroughly freaked out at first but eventually found his balls & could soon be counted on to wear himself out trying to hold it down & wrestle it into submission. (toy was only ever turned on mildest setting.)

Yeah well, sm cats seem to have immunity to catnip, & mine was one of those, so I had to get creative

Is he fixed? If not, do that ASAP.

Like mentioned above, I would invest in some cat toys he can destroy. Try keeping a spray bottle/squirt gun and use it when he does something bad. If you don't want to do that, keep something like a jar with change inside (or anything that you can use to make a loud noise) and give it a good shake.

Totally off topic, can we see an updated pic? Thanks! Hope you come up w/a solution! When I had my bun, I had her confined to a section of the room, don't know if you can do that w/your boy.
