Default Problem Streaming in Flash Chat

I'm having a peculiar problem with my newer laptop and am hoping someone here can shed some light. Adobe makes it impossible to actually talk to someone about technical issues. I've posted in their forum with no response... anyone know a phone number for Adobe Support?

But aside from that my problem is this...

I'm using Windows 8 64 bit, flash player 11.8, have tried on both chrome and firefox, have uninstalled and reinstalled flash, disabled and enabled flash plugins/add ons, cleared the flash cache, nothing has fixed what is going on.

When I try to use either my C910 or my built in webcam, either with manycam or without on flash chat sites such as SkinVideo or Streamate (without the encoder), the settings show the cam and mic options but they will not work properly. There is no cam or sound coming through to chat. This problem is exclusive to flash chat. I can use my cams and mics fine through SM or AW encoders.

Anyone know what the hell is going on? I'd like to be able to use my newer laptop since my older one doesn't seem to cut it for SM anymore.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This can often be caused by what you have set as the default camera and mic in your Control Panel. When you're using what you call "Flash Chat" the website goes through your defaults, whereas things like the Encoder auto select or allow you to manually input you cam/mic.

Control Panel --> Devices and Printers --> Ensure that your Logitech C910 is the default for your camera and mic (right click them, click set as default).

Manycam can also override and make itself the default even without showing in Control Panel (this means Manycam will be your default cam even though it isn't a camera). You can remedy this by unistalling Manycams, rebooting your system, and connecting to "Flash chat" again.

Another potential cause is your security settings in your browser. Clear your cookies and cache INCLUDING your data from hosted apps (in chrome) or Active X filtering (in IE).

    .
Only thing about this though is that I am choosing my cam and mic manually in the flash settings. Maybe you already considered this though?

Also when I right click my cam in devices and printers there's no option to set it to default. Hmmm

Yeah, even when you select it in the browser the default can override. There is a more complicated way to change it in the devices, but if you're not advanced you could end up messing things up. Skip that step for now. Try clearing the settings as described and then try uninstalling manycams. (You can always reinstall it later since it is free )

Jaysus I ran CC Cleaner, uninstalled manycam, rebooted, and neither cam is working when I choose it on any browser or on either site still.

After talking with dell tech support for like an hour we figured out that clearing out the browser history completely fixed the problem. I thought CC Cleaner was doing this for me but apparently it wasn't. So weird! Glad it's fixed now. Damn computers.
