    Search androgynous cams?

    hi all,

i'm new to this and i'm sorry if this is a question that's already been asked (i've tried searching for it and came up with nothing though so thought i'd take the plunge).

does anyone know if there's much of a market for androgynous camgirls/people? most of what i've experienced about sex work has been focusing on feminine cis girls (cis means someone who identifies with the gender they were assigned at birth), and a bit on cis men. this includes sex work collectives, friendship circles, forums etc. so because i'm genderqueer/trans* this adds another level of difficulty in entering camming/any other sex work.

are there any other people in this situation in these forums?

does anyone know if there's a market for genderplay/androgynous cammers who have 'female' bodies/are transmasculine?

(of course there are a lot of sex workers who are trans*women who also seem under represented sometimes? but that's probably just due to the circles i move in i guess.)

There is pretty much a market for every type of individual out there, really. All ages, from just turned 18 to 80 year old grandmothers. There are just so many different types of clients out there seeking different people for different fantasies. That's one of the big positives of the cam world....anyone can pretty much cater to SOME kind of client / fetish / fantasy / genre...etc.

Now, the thing to consider is, obviously that each market has different percentages of clients and profitability. Not all 'types' of cam individuals will obviously have a huge profitable niche. A big titted, horny young nympho is going to be able to market herself to more people because that's just the way society seems to be leaning when it comes to the porn world.

I'll be blunt: there's probably a very limited customer base for someone visibly genderqueer. I've seen one or two g/g couples accounts on SM where at least one of the models could be described as soft butch but that's about it, and I have no idea what their earnings were like.

If it wouldn't make you too uncomfortable to do so, you'd probably appeal to the wider range of customers by appearing as feminine as possible. I don't know what you look like but if you can pass for a cis chick on cam, I would do it. Very few of us are actually "ourselves" on cam, we're just playing a part for a few hours a day. I just take the parts of me that help me make money and set aside the parts of me that don't.

If that's not an option, you could always try mainstream sites (AFAIK you'd have the market cornered) OR what I'd start with is indie camming and market yourself specifically to people who are already looking for you. There are porn studios shooting genderqueer/feminist/nontraditional porn with more relaxed ideas of gender and power. Someone's gotta be buying that porn, right? Find them, market to them, take their money.

I prefer andro camgirls and my bf is very andro. I think it's very sexy. I do think it's a bit of a niche. Ultimately, at least in MFC, the top girls are mostly blonde, tan, thin with tits, feminine, etc. MFC has a few girls who are pretty andro and they don't have tons of people in their rooms but I'm sure they have regulars and can make a lot if they are good at the job. I would say go for it but don't expect to be the top model on a site because no matter how hot your look is it isn't the most popular from a statistics standpoint.

I go high femme with my look for cam even though I'm pretty andro most of the time IRL. That said, I don't ACT in a gender normative manner and maybe I'd make more money hourly if I did but I wouldn't put in the hours because I hate acting super fake.

I find androgynous men and women extremely attractive, so I have to imagine others do too
