Default Going back after disappearing from the club

    Hi,

I tried to search for a similar thread but didn't really find anything.

    My situation:

I started in a new club 2 weeks ago. All was nice but I recently met a guy who I really like and he was having a party on Saturday. So I was silly and did a no show on Saturday night that I was scheduled for. Manager called me several times and also texted but I didn't react.

A few girls I know who work there said that he looked a bit upset but wasn't really that angry. I was too scared to say anything and I also had a day job so I thought I just won't go back.

Well the day later I got told from my waitressing job that they don't think I fit the position and that I would take some time 'off' and call them in a week or so, that they will maybe give me a few more trial shifts. So suddenly both of the jobs were out of the question. I have several major expenses right now and not working is NOT an option.

I researched other clubs in this city and most of them are extremely dead right now. This particular club where I worked is the busiest and most well known and there were people every night. So of course I am now kicking myself for acting so unprofessionally with them. I am planning to just go in tonight and make up a sweet little lie how I broke up with my ex and had to leave the town for a while because he lives in another town. I hate lying but I really want this job back and I am not sure they will give it to me if I simply said that I wanted to go to a party.. Smh. I have never stood a club up like that, it was on a whim and I really regret it.

I will go there tonight and if they say no, I will apply to another club. But I'd much prefer to go back there.

Have any of you experience on going back after a no show/fuck up/dissappearing? Any words of advice? Thanks!

I imagine strip club managers have heard a lot of excuses and drama. Maybe you should just apologize for being a no-show and ask to work tonight? If he asks why, then I'd just say something vague, like "I had a personal matter that kept me away. I apologize for not responding to your calls." I try to keep my interactions with managers as professional and as like any other conversation with a "boss" that I can, though the whole being topless for some of them thing is a limiting factor.

Strip club managers don't really care, honestly. He might give you a bit of shit since it was recent and he might actually remember, but if you show up ready to work and apologize for missing your shift, I'm sure it'll be fine. Strippers disappear and no call/no show all the time; if managers fired them all for doing it once, they'd have a pretty empty club!

He's not really going to care. Just go in and start getting ready. If he approaches you about it then apologize and insert and excuse and say it won't happen again.

^^Right, I am surprised they even called you, thats a bit weird, the only club that has ever called me or looked for an excuse of why I wasnt there was a small dive where I started my dancing career at and was the only hot girl there, so thats the only reason I was missed so much. I later found out what a shithole of a club that really was when I went to other clubs and saw how much better they were in all ways. Most clubs will just fine you for the no show if that.

You're going to tell an employer that you did not show up for work because of relationship problems? Wrong and unprofessional, IMO. I'm really not trying to make you feel bad here, but you skipped work for a guy you LIKE? Why would you put someone you're not even in a relationship with before work like that? For a party? It wasn't even a date!

Just tell him that you over slept and you were too scared and embarrassed to face him (which is half truth), beg for forgiveness, be professional about it and to make him feel good about hiring you back, sell VIP.

This is also a reason why you should NEVER EVER burn bridges with an employer- if you want to leave, give notice don't just disappear. If you keep doing things like this, no employer will ever trust you and will be there for you with open arms when you need them back... And don't ever think this is OK simply because you think you won't come back.. you will never know.

Lol @ AVA..you're so cute! In my area, most clubs fine even if you call in..I'd go with showing up/apologizing if necessary Good luck

    ^^lol, well..!
They should get over it like asap cause were independent contractors #1 and not an employee but some clubs are all uptight about stuff like this, just depends on who your dealing with. I feel they just act uptight cause they want their fine $$ but they really dont care as long as they get there lil $$ and it will be forgotten about. Id still make up some crazy story though, you were in an accident, sick as a dog, lost phone in robbery(lol),etc. whatever you come up with just make it believable and some reason you couldnt get to your phone.

VERY true!!i know its tempting, and i was gonna do that as well, just not pay house and say fuck you and go to a new club..but what if the new club doesn't work out? you just never, never know and its always comforting to have a place to fall back on.
i would go in, and apologize, then continue and just never do that again..and next time, never blow work off for anybody unless its an emergency, money will always be there for you, guys? not so much
