Are you watching this show? If not, you should be. It is like a really good book. I don't want it to end!

I think it actually is based on a book--the producer's memoir. I haven't read it, but I have watched the show. I was very skeptical because of the name, but my friend swore it was funny. I ended up watching the whole first season and enjoying it quite a bit. The dialogue has a lot of gems, and the more serious issues don't get too melodramatic and kill the humor, IMO.

Slightly related: I love to write, and I have been thinking ever since finishing this show that it would be really cool to write a Netflix series.

It's a "fish out of water" dramedy (drama/comedy) about a girl named Piper who is about to get married to a reliable fellow and start her reliable life when a crime that she committed a decade ago resurfaces. The series details her 15-month sentence in a minimum security prison where she is met with all sorts of problems, from a psycho religious ex-meth head trying to "save" her to the ex-girlfriend who got her into this mess (played by "Donna" from That 70's Show) coming back into her life. The characters are colorful, and the situations are funny without being too cliche. I was pleasantly surprised.

I saw a couple episodes w/ my neighbour last wk, & the scene where she is in the communal shower/bathroom area for the first time, & the accompanying dialogue - I swear it was like smtg out of the dressing room at work! No modesty & no filters!

^It is better!!! Weeds was great, but the cast of this series completely makes the show. I watched the whole season in 2 1/2 days. Apparently adapted from a true story, too.

I watched the whole series in two days. I watch shows pretty much never, but this one left me wanting more after each episode. I can't wait for next season!! (Which is next year. Sigh.)

It's fucking addicting! I'm so mad that I blew through the season so quickly. I had a concussion so I was off a few days and just watched it religiously.

I love it! Loved Weeds, and this is just as good if not better. I watched it in like two days, too.
