Default Where Do You Shop For Clothing and Accessories?

Hey ladies just for fun where do you guys like to shop for clothing and accessories? Or what designers do you like? I am talking regular clothing, shoes, etc not work stuff.

Me personally if I like something I'll get it no matter where it is from or what designer makes it however I'm not going to lie either I tend to like the finer things in life like stuff from neiman marcus and nordstrom. I like dolce and gabbana, versace, armani, etc but I like other stuff to, like things from charlotte russe, bebe, and guess.

    What about you ladies?

Alexander Wang is my favorite designer, and if I could afford it I would buy every collection in its entirety. I have one bag! Lol.

What I actually buy is mostly American Apparel and vintage. TBH, I basically wear jeans or shorts and a tank top or tee + sweater if it's cold if I'm not camming. I'm super minimalist and andro off cam. Plus, I pretty much associate getting super glammed out with work now, so it's lost it's fun pretty much.

American Apparel is 3 blocks from me! Super convenient because they have tons of stuff that works for camming/stripping plus great lazy clothes like harem pants. And good lip gloss! It's affordable enough and it always fits... Some places you have to try everything on but I'm always the same size there. It's a great store for petite and/or slim girls, or really for anyone who wears standard sizes if you go with the stretchy fabrics.

Also they TOTALLY sell fetish wear! Tons of schoolgirl stuff, vinyl/latex sorta clothes, etc. in addition to super short shorts and cropped tops and tight everything perfect for sex workers.

i don't think i've ever had anything on made from an actual designer im ashamed to say..had a few coach bags though ( bought for me as presents).
i do like true religion a lot though.
i mix and match my clothes, some from charlotte russe, american eagle, and rue 21 ( love their perfumes o my lord), some from this cool privately owned foreign imports store ( mostly breezy boho looks), and some bright bikini tops or short shorts from target or somewhere cheap.
i really want to check out american apparel!! thanks for the info

I love true religion but the jeans make my booty look small, I like jeans that make it look bigger, like armani, fendi, guess, and whatever else I can find.
I love gucci, luis, prada, Valentino, jimmy choo and all that nice shit.
I also sometimes like this store called zara, the stuff doesnt cost much but some of its cute (there jeans all suck so bad tho)
    Oh, of course bebe.
I like anything that looks good on me and doesnt look cheap, really.
    Oh, and versace, versace, versace!
I must have designer bags and sun glasses, the rest just needs to look good, whatever it is.

Hmm mostly just Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, sometimes Tillys. Every mall here has the same shit.
I am also a cheapskate and would rather buy 10 things for $100 than 2 things, and I view falling apart clothes as "time to move on".

We have a mall here referred to as "Ghettocenter" and for some reason, I like most of the stuff in that mall (and other malls in less well-off neighborhoods), which is full of stores meant for Latina and black girls... which is odd cause I'm a skinny white blonde girl. BBB Fashion is the main store that comes to mind... I get a lot of cute shirts and sundresses from there.

I have never liked anything designer, it's mostly either really gaudy, or so basic I can't justify paying very much. I do carry a black Coach bag, which was half paid for as a Christmas gift... and I insisted on the plain black C bag because it would stay classic.

Wal Mart...lmao. I'm a fucking cheap ass. Even my "civilian" clothes have to be altered. I spend more money on cute bras and panties when I get tired of granny bras and sports bras.

Alexander McQueen is my favorite high fashion designer. But then again I tend go for things with more of a gothic flare. Its always really gothic or really lolita for me, or both at the same time.

I tend to shop vintage. If I shop in a regular store, I'm always shopping for a specific style or cut or material. Like for me, right now I'm into cropped 1950s cuts, 1960s clothing in general because it flatters my body type, 1920s details & color schemes always and forever, and 1970s patterns. I know 1990s stuff is really trendy right now, but I don't feel like I can pull it off.

I hate malls. They make me feel like death and I like... get annoyed that every single store is selling the same shit and selling it to massive amounts of people. Malls kind of make me uncomfortable. Its weird because I grew up loving them. Then I moved to a major city and then grew to despise everything about them.

Boutiques are nice. Pricey but good. Always a hit or a miss for me. There are a lot of good ones in major cities though, which is where I tend to be.

As for like trends, well streetwear is really popular right now. I can't really pull most of it off though. UNIF, (parts of) wildfox, HUF, mishka, the blonde locks, etc etc.

I find that things are more like... by designer than like... by store. So I guess I tend to follow designers more than I follow specific stores- even if I don't buy anything or don't really wear anything that designer has created lol. I really don't even own that many designer pieces anymore. Most of my stuff is vintage, but looking at what other designers are doing kind of helps me put things together.

Everywhere from Target and Forever 21 to Armani Exchange. I have a policy of only buying something if I truly love it. When I break that rule, I always regret it because it's just not quite right, and I am neurotic and will hardly ever wear it. This applies to makeup too. I have been trying to find a cheap mascara that I like well enough, and with the number of $6-$20 mascaras I've purchased over the last few months, I could have just gotten a Lancome or Armani that I love... twice. In line with that, I want to get rid of 90% of my closet this fall and just fill it with quality pieces that I love.

Anyway, Macy's tends to have a few things I like. For younger looking pieces, I like to check out American Rag. They have a boho vibe, and I tend to wear over-sized neutral sweaters. I also look for BCBG items.

Forever 21 is fun because you can get a ton of stuff for not much money, but some of their stuff falls apart after one wear, so you have to choose wisely.

It's a bit funny considering how punk rock/goth I used to look, but I really like J. Crew's shit in the outlet malls down here. I'm just like, "Oh, how adorable! I should wear this to go boating! Even though I don't have a boat... To the beach, maybe?" I look so preppy and quaint.

If I work three times next week, I'm treating myself to a trip to Houston's galleria to look through Nordstrom.

Oh, oh, oh--and online shopping! Though since doing my boobs, I am a little afraid of buying without trying.

I always shop at the same places. My ward robe consists mainly of clothing from Guess, Marciano and BCBG. I am not really into accessories, I have one pair of earrings & a watch that goes with almost anything and it's enough for me... I also have two designer bags, one designer clutch and don't need more lol

I spend a lot of money on clothing though, I love clothes!

I am exactly the same way! I splurge on things I LOVE because I know I will wear/use them forever. I have so many shitty pieces of clothing I just never wear, and then always wear the same pieces over and over lmao.

In the last year, I've gotten rid of like 80% of my clothes and things I own because I just don't ~*love*~ them.

@TuesM. you should try NYC (green tube) Big Bold Curl lash mascara, .95c @ Wal Mart. It sometimes has to be reapplied but for a cheapie it's good. I also use the mini of Benefit They're Real 10.$
As far as other shopping I haven't gone much

I mostly shop for clothes at boutiques. I'm not too big into name brands, but if I like something it doesn't matter where it comes from. I've got this app on my phone called poshmark and I've been shopping on there lately. It's just a bunch of girls posting their clothes that they no longer wear and selling them. I've got some good deals there, and I have no problem buying used clothing. I got some Steve Madden sneaker wedges for $30 that were only wore once that originally cost over $100. Plus, you can sell your old clothes too, and I've often traded with other girls from there. Does anyone else here shop on that website?

I shop at Nordstrom and Saks, but I also shop consignment and outlet stores.

I don't care where I go as long as I can find something that I love, fits well (I'm pretty curvy for being thin), and is WELL CONSTRUCTED. I've been having a lot of trouble lately finding items with thicker material and good stitching.

But then I buy $4 tank tops. LOL

Designer clothes are often WAY overpriced for what they are. I own a pair of micheal kors nude pumps and a few key designer pieces, mostly from vintage stores, but most of my clothes are either high quality basics (like my lulus), or trendy statement pieces like beaded chiffon tanks and tunics that I can layer with camis or cardigans or jackets depending on the weather. I'm the hardest customer to sell to as I've spent the last four years studying design...so if something is unsatisfactory in some way--fit, quality, way overpriced for quality--unless it is really unique and special and uses some kind of complex construction methods to make it worth all my money...I'm snapping a picture and heading down to the design district to hunt for some fabric and knock it off :p Brands that I like to buy are socially and/or environmentally sustainable companies, because I feel that is the direction fashion needs to move in and I am happy to give those companies my money to help them grow so more people can access them

There needs to be more brands like these but for example:

I obtain a majority of my clothing from either boutiques, street vendors/kiosks or sammydress.com. Idk, I kinda enjoy wearing stuff you aren't going to run into at the mall for some reason--it makes me feel unique I guess, lol.

I used to be really into designer bags, and have a fair collection of them. But I've come to the realization that it is pointless for me to have them because I'm too lazy to baby them in every day use:so they end up on the metro floor, or on the sticky-peanut-ridden bar floor... and my dogs trample/throw up in/chew on them---and I'm way too lazy to get that crap drycleaned. So alas, no more.

I agree. At this point in my life, I would rather spend $150 on 1 well-constructed item than $50 on 3 items. I am so over cheap clothes. I never want to step foot in forever 21 again.

I think it depends on the item & the designer. Peacoats and jeans tend to be very well made. Sometimes skirts too.

I hate designer bags too. Especially ones with logos or really trendy ones. I like a well-constructed bag, but I HATE when you can tell who the designer is just by the pattern or the style.

I've noticed... the trendier something is in the moment, the more I NEVER want to see it again when the trend passes (6 months to 1 year later). The item also becomes tied to that ~*era*~, so it looks outdated if you use it past its prime TBH.

I have a very wide range of places I buy my clothes/shoes/accessories from! I love thrift shopping. There are some really decent resale clothing stores around where I live. I also love online shopping, from anywhere I find cute stuff at. Seriously, anywhere. I bought a $10 floral sundress from Hong Kong... got so many compliments! I love searching for stuff I want to buy and finding it online. I live in metro Detroit, and there's a city very closeby with a very trendy downtown area and lots of little boutiques - there's TONS of cute stuff. There's also an American Apparel lol. Somerset mall is also relatively close to me and it's very high end. So there's so much variety in shopping and still finding cute clothes. As far as designers, Louis Vuitton and Burberry. I love Burberry, it's classic. I'm going to spend a lot of money on a Burberry trench coat this Winter, I love them. I like Prada heels but I don't have any... yet!

There are a few designer brands that are great and known for excellent quality. But others, like Burberry, for example, claim to be selling some high-end british made product, when the reality is that it's made in the same sweatshops that many high street/fast fashion companies use because the recession has forced these previously reputable brands to outsource their manuacturing overseas and has driven the quality way down. Kind of like how girls on this site bitch a lot about how the quality of girls working in the industry has gone down since the recession because clubs are more reliant on girls providing customers with the same "more for less" business principle. A great (though not fool proof) indicator of garment quality is where an item is made: if it's made in Italy, or France, or England, or another western European country, you're probably paying for that quality. If it was made in China, you are paying for a brand name, and not better quality products. Lululemon recently announced they're outsourcing to Asia as well. I've been loyal to them because I can buy a pair of leggings and not have to replace them for a year or more. We'll see if their new products hold up as well!
