    Angry Hair help.

I've always had very fine hair, but a LOT of it. It's also pretty curly, which also translates to frizzy, especially in my humid climate! I also have extremely oily hair, I've tried the whole process of not washing for long stretches to decrease oil production, but it didn't do anything except drive me nuts. My ends are also pretty dry, which doesn't help the frizz.. And to top it all off, I have mild dandruff. I hate the way my hair is so greasy and flat on top, but then 3-4 inches down it suddenly poofs out (which is extremely unflattering for my face shape) to this fuzzy mess of frizz and some moderate sized ringlets and dry, split ends.. Oh and sprinkle in a few dandruff flakes.

I feel like I'm stuck with awful hair. Since my pregnancy, my hair has gotten thicker and it's just awful. I don't have time to straighten it daily, and even when I do, it just makes it overly greasy faster from being touched. I am seriously so frustrated. Ready to just shave my head and call I good. It doesn't help that I hate my hair cut, but really I always hate my hair. I need help. Seriously. Something I can do at home, something inexpensive, just something. I wear my hair up all the time now, but I'm tired of feeling so annoyed when I see myself. And I have those wispy little baby hairs on my hairline which just curl and stick up everywhere.. They only showed up after pregnancy and have just stuck around over a year now. Any advice is appreciated..

To me it sounds like you need a hot oil treatment, which means microwaving oil. For you, I would use coconut oil, its reaallly good for dandruff and use a scalp applicator. Coconut oil is very cheap and you can find a cheap scalp applicator at beauty supply stores.

Maybe you should try dry shampoo for your oily hair.. I know when I put too much product in my hair and it gets too oily, I'd spray this and works like a charm. Most dry shampoos also add volume to your hair. I believe you can find good ones for under $10.

Have you tried hair serum? All you need is a tiny bit so your hair won't weigh down but it does the trick for frizz, usually.

I have been using coconut oil, and have tried numerous hair serums. Some make a small difference, but that frizz is just beast mode! I will look for a dry shampoo though thank you!

I know there's shampoo for oily scalp/dry ends but I don't use it so I can't recommend one. The ingredient tea tree oil is supposed to be good for dandruff.
John Frieda has a good serum for frizz with a lighter formula for fine hair if needed. I use JF 3 days straight with out heat, to straighten my hair it softens my wave/curl a lot.
I feel for you cause you have a couple different conditions going on at the same time.
For deep conditioning, I like Palmer's vitamin e Coconut Oil pack, you leave it on 10 - 20 minutes. It's a 2 oz pack, I get 3 uses from it, & my hair's waist length.
For the baby hairs, put a bit of conditioner on a clean toothbrush & gently work it on them

Try mild clarifying shampoo. Dandruff can also be caused by product buildup in you scalp and hair which clarifying shampoo helps eliminate.

Also curl butters and pomade will make your hair around your hairline lay down like you want and eliminate frizz.

Yeah, well it's frustrating! My hair's seriously dry, I have overbleached ends from highlighting, & the sun. I try to tuck the length in a band, when going outside. I will try to look up some shampoo brands for you.
Also, try massaging your scalp w/your fingertips. Ooh, I just thought of this, take the herb Rosemary, boil it in some water then let it cool. Pour it over your head. It is good to help growth too.

how long do you keep the coconut oil in? for best results you'll need to keep it in overnight for at least 12 hours, preferably 14 then wash it out with a clarifying shampoo and then condition. chi oil works well too. when you shampoo normally , only shampoo your scalp ( or mostly scalp) then condition everything concentrating on your ends. my friend has hair like you, and she does protein treatments. also, for frizz you need to dry your hair before going out if its humid out..the moisture in the air will get into your hair shaft and expand the hair making it frizzy. so use a diffuser and dry it on cool with a hair dryer. i would really suggest going to a professional though

I know.. I should find a professional, but I live in a small town with very limited resources. It's quite frustrating. And I'm cheap, I hate spending money. But thank you for the tips, it's kind of impossible to avoid the humidity, we pretty much sweat when we step out of the shower and no AC!!
