    Default Eating at work

I love love love takeout, but I really can't eat anything too crazy at work. It SUCKS being bloated while working. What does everyone eat to keep them through their shifts?

Sushi, raw sugar snap peas, popcorn, sugar free red bull, sometimes a turkey sandwich I made at home, salad, lunchables and chocolate. I seriously need new ideas of good work food to get me through a wicked long shift. Nothing too unhealthy, I know I won't actually work if I eat chicken wings or something.

I use to just make a protein shake, that way I was full without the bloat.

Our club has a kitchen so even though I feel like a fat ass after shoving my face I still say screw it and order..... I'm way more pleasant on a full tummy than an empty lol.

But I do keep oat&honey granola bars in my bag for snacks

something with protein before work. Bring almonds, they're the perfect nutrient packed bloat-free snack. If need be I'll order a salad or soup, once club I work at has a buffet with a lot of pretty healthy options so I'll just eat that and make sure to load up on the veggies. I hate eating at work though because of bloat and also it wastes time, gotta go brush your teeth afterwards depending what you eat, I only do it when I get super hungry or if I didn't have time to eat before coming into work. Usually snacking on the almonds or some fruit gets me through! Bananas are another good one.

I recently came across this and thought many of the suggestions were perfect for a work snack: http://greatist.com/health/high-prot...acks-portable/

I prefer not to eat while working, but if I'm working longer or earlier than usual, I make exceptions.

Who has time to eat? I suppose I would order a salad or have a slice of pizza. I'd much rather eat after work.

^This! If I do bring snacks I rarely have the chance to eat them. A protein shake or a healthy, homemade snack/meal is good to have in your bag...to avoid getting take away/junk food.

really healthy snacks like apples, bananas, grapes, then a whole grain sandwich or something with chicken or ham for some protein. ensure plus drinks are good too. i never have time/inclination to eat there but i try to because i've been getting sick from starving myself accidentally

This is a good thread. I want to buy some bars in bulk to bring to work.

    http://www.wellandgoodnyc.com/2012/0...utrition-bars/

I used to love cliff bars, but too much sugar. When I go to work sometimes I'll bring in a peanut butter sandwich or sushi rolls that I pick up on the way to work.

Sometimes I'll order food if the club I'm working in has a kitchen, but I try not to do that because once I had a couple of girls who I wasn't friendly with vulture around me wanting to eat some of my food. Bitches should get their own food. I prefer to bring my own since 1. it's healthier and 2. no one tries to beg me for food.

Fruit or some kind of bar. 5-hour energy shots. That's about it. Nothing stanky, nothing that sticks to teeth, nothing that takes too long to eat (time=money).

I keep almonds in my locker and I'll bring grilled chicken and a banana if I'm working a long shift. I used to skip bringing food to work but after every shift I'd end up grabbing fast-food or over eating when I got home. The protein from almonds and chicken keeps me full and the banana is a good energizer if I hit a slump.

I sm times make a fruit soup that I can bring in a thermos to work. I get the sugar boost, Idk what nutrients since the fruit's cooked, & it's quick to ear. Can be eaten hot or cold.

I actually love this. I would love to be able to go 9.5 hours without eating, but it's not going to happen. I eat earlier in the night and again when I get home. There's no way I can hustle hard enough without eating and I never eat huge meals, so after working for 2 hours I'm starving. Anyway, thanks for the link! Those are all good ideas, there's only so many times I can eat luna bars without losing my mind.

Sometimes I don't have time to eat a full meal before work, and since my goal is always to sell champagne rooms I don't want to drink on an empty stomach. My club has great food so sometimes I will order dinner there, especially when my regulars come in.

I've been eating a lot of seafood before work lately and it's always easy on the stomach. Sushi is especially good - healthy, makes you full without actually feeling "full" (bloated, etc).

I think a regular digestive system is very important too. I always make sure I shit before work. No way do I want to feel full or like I have to shit while I'm at work.

I am uber lazy so I bring cereal and Pop Tarts a lot... apples and peaches too.

I really, really like the Odwalla drinks. Full of protein and B-vitamins! They have a vanilla chai one now that has the little bit of caffeine in it from the black tea, and it's great - fills me up and gives me a little boost awake if I'm falling asleep.

I bring cliff bars and bananas. Sometimes almonds or a small salad if I'm working a long shift. Here in Ohio we can have long breaks when no one is in the club, so I always eat then.

Yes, this^ I can NOT go extended time w/o eating I am hypoglygcemic & will get the shakes. I carry sunflower seeds on me, plus I like soynut butter for sandwiches. Trader Joe's has frozen gluten free pancakes, I get those, defrost them, carry with. They also have a precooked frozen Japanese rice w/veggies/edamae that's fantastic. The protein bar brand Advantage makes different types of bars: snack, light meal, regular meal. They are very low sugar, some have small amounts of protein.
I love fruit/veggies, but they don't 'stay with me' I'm hungry soon after eating them.

Why are girls not concerned with germs? I would NEVER steal salad. I understand stealing a slice of pizza or sushi but salad is just insane.

I have tried to get my body so I don't get hungry at work. If I drink alcohol, I get hungrier, I'm usually okay if I'm driving.

There's a really small 'window' for me before work, where I can eat shortly enough before work to not get hungry at work, but a long enough time before to not feel hungry at work-and I often get it wrong and end up feeling bloated, or getting dodgy blood sugar symptoms, shakes and feeling sick-I prefer the latter!
I carry packets of nuts or rice cakes a lot, never eat proper food at work, would be too scared of it lingering on my breath or getting it down myself or feeling too full!

I don't get this either, I've met way too many girls (and customers) who are not concerned about germs.

Juicy J. - Thanks for that link, I'm gonna try the Quest Coconut Bars..
Also, they're pricey, but I love Body by Jake bars, he has a coconut, cashew one. It 'stays' with me, keeps me feeling not hungry for a while. They're sold @Vitamin Shoppe
