Default Are regular high heels okay for dancing?!

I'm finding a lot of cheap 6-7" heels like these:

They LOOK like stripper shoes and they're cute... But I don't buy them unless they're a brand made for dancers (Ellie, Pleaser, etc.) because I don't know if the quality is good enough to dance in without them breaking.

Do you ever dance in heels not specifically made for dancing or is it risky?

I think they would cause foot problems in the long run. They may not be comfortable after a few hours of dancing... Stripper heels are made for doing acrobatic stripper stuff.

I'm not a stripper, but while puttering around youtube last week I found this. (I find all kinds of random fun stuff on there)

Maybe some of the other ladies could verify if this information is legitimate! For those who don't feel up to watching or aren't able at the moment, the video basically says that shoes designed for stripping are better at absorbing shock and supporting the foot.

    No, no, no, no.

Your feet are going to hurt so badly! Get regular stripper shoes.

I tried it once and got a blister in an hour from my dear mikie kohrs...I was tres tres disappointed
That video is totaly legit. The bigger the platform the longer I can wear my shoes without my feet hurting BUT they take additional calf, ankle, and butt strength to manouver, so start with 5" and work your way up to the 8"ers a little bit at a time, giving your body time to adjust. Kind of like how the stronger you get as a figure skater the more supportive your skates need to get, but you won't be able to move if you buy something above your level of skill.

I wore normal high heels for a few shifts recently, I felt so weird and my feet hurt!

I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer closed-toe 6-7 inch regular high heels to stripper heels. Aesthetically, I'm fond of the severe arch that is created with a higher heel and a shorter platform. *shrugs*
