Just wondering, I was going to try & apply/audition, I''l actually be in the area where some clubs are tomorrow, for something else. Anyone working, & how has it been in the past, slow or not?
Thanks ladies!![]()

It's kind of funny how this kind of thread pops up every year for every long weekend, holiday, or special occasion.
It really depends on the area. In my city, long weekends are usually pretty quiet with the bonus of less girls, making it pretty average in the end. In a city a few hours away, long weekends are pretty lucrative.
There's no perfect time to start, so don't worry about whether it'll be slow or not (and even if a club is known for being busy, the nature of this business is so unpredictable that that doesn't mean anything for the next year, or even that the huge crowd will spend money on you), and just apply and work. When it comes down to it, you'll probably make more going in than sitting around at home.

You don't have to sad face, it's just that this industry is so unpredictable and club/region-specific that you can never predict if a shift will be good or not, so all you or any other dancer, new or veteran, can do is just go in and make the best of whatever crowd comes in. Good luck if you decide to go in!

I agree with this, I will also add that a new dancer to a club may still do badly as they adjust even if its a great weekend for everyone else.
I think last labor day I did badly and the labor day before was great and before that I don't think I worked or if I did it was not memorable. ill be working all weekend tho, I want to rack up money so I can take time off to study for the gre
a good rule of thumb is to look at how expensive hotels are in your area this weekend, unless your area is a family destination (like orlando or la). even if you're not near a big convention city (or there isn't one that week) its still possible that a bunch of bachelor or birthday parties from more rural areas want to party in your city and are crashing there this weekend.
