Let me just say a word about fake nails..
They're definitely beautiful and add immensely to the polished look, but if you care one iota about growing strong, long, healthy, natural nails, don't do it. I'm OBSESSED with my nails and it's taken me years to finally get them to where I've always wanted them, combatting nail-biting, cuticle-picking, scratching polish off, etc. Fake nails, at least the acrylic kind, are murder for your nail bed and surface. Unless you get them taken off professionally by the same people who put them on, they don't leave a pretty sight underneath once they fall/peel off. They weaken your nail and if you've ever noticed when you take them off that your nail is extremely soft and flexible. A healthy nail is not like that. My nails, now that they are strong and healthy, you can't even bend no matter how hard you try. They'd snap off before they bent (which is good).
You can have beautiful nails even if they're short, like down to the skin short. In fact it's better to start all over and start manicuring them from the very roots. So what I did was clipped off all of the extending parts and filed them down, right along the skin. Then you apply cuticle oil, a nail hardener/strengthener (Essie, Sally Hansen), and a base coat. Polish optional. But if you do that and apply the hardener and cuticle oil every day, they'll grow out healthy and strong. Mine look fake but they aren't. All natch
Oh yeah but if you do want the French manicure fake nails, go for gel instead of acrylic. It's a lot easier on the nail.

Zadi is right. Gel nails are much better. I swear by them.

There's a kind of false eyelashes that look like peacock feathers, that when under the lights at the club, look magical, and really draw guys in, especially when you use eye contact. I found mine at CVS, and I should have bought a few pairs, because they don't carry them anymore. If anyone knows where to get them, I'd be so grateful! thanks! glam![]()

I found similar ones on etsy.com

Sally's has 'em, & the other places (Walgreen's, Ulta etc) around Halloween..you could find a couple pair floatin' around now maybe..

^^ great- thankx

I choose to express myself with what I wear.. I don't wear make up other than some powder & lip gloss.. it's easy it works and is cost effective..
Another "fake/barbie" tumblr:
I love this thread

I'm surprised there isn't a thread just on her and her 'stripper diaries'.

Bumping this, so I don't have to search for it lol

So I'm finally going to get my nails did. Anyone have any recommendation on what color I should use to achieve more of a fake look? Hot pink or any other bright colors?

What colors do you like? For nails, I like a creamy, pale (but not too) pink

^You know, I like that color too. I might just go with that. Otherwise I'm not too picky. I was thinking of getting a really bright or tacky color or something glittery.

i vote for french manicure with glitter on the tips..or maybe pink glittery tips
The simplest thing that took my look to the next level was taking the dive and fully lining my eyes. I can't line my waterline (I have no idea how you ladies do that without getting all kinds of shit in your eyes and on your contact lenses), but I line the area just below the waterline and gently smudge it to make it look more natural.
I'm someone who wears very little makeup IRL (I usually only lightly line the outer half of my upper lid). But damn...it makes a huge difference in a dark club. It took me a while to get over the "drag queen in daylight" mental adjustment. Most clubs these days are so dark that you really need to overdo it a bit just to show up.
