Default Working For Webcam Studio...Is It Worth It?

So I was contacted by New Industry Models to work as one of their cam girls. They seem very legit, and are based in Los Angeles. They have a studio I can work from, which is very convenient for me. They also told me that their top models who have been camming full time for at least 8-weeks make arpund $1,000-2,000/per week. Does that even seem reasonable in camming? I always hear it's hard to get traffic for money...

I practically don't know anything about cam modeling, any red flags I should look for before signing up with them?

the in call studio is a different situation but it would be wise to read the sticky about avoiding studios - then you are a least going in armed with some knowledge of questions to ask in advance before you sign anything or give them personal information - is there a reason you cant work from home?

This thread is one of those that Miss Fox is referring to, over in Camming Connection:

There's also a lot of good info in there if you haven't checked it out already.

If you absolutely can not work from home I'd say it's worth a try since they are actually providing you a place to work and equipment, unlike the virtual "studios" who basically steal from you and provide little to nothing.

I would say that a physical webcam studio would be great for now; plus you can get some wonderful experience out of the deal

What site(s) do they work with? What percentage do they take? Can you leave and immediately work with the site directly or are you stuck with them? (Physical studios are notoriously difficult to get out of)

If they take more than 5% and/or you can't leave and immediately work with the site directly I wouldn't do it. The only equipment you really need is a computer and a webcam. I spent most of my time camming in a HOT (probably 90-100+ degrees) room with a 7 year old desktop with 2gb RAM and a broken monitor propped up on the floor and did just fine.

Get all the info before you sign up. I have a physical studio where the performers work at. Many used to work at another studio that screwed them over and had them sign a contract that said once they left their studio they couldn't cam on Streamate for two years. Many studios are pulling this non compete bullshit and block performers from working.

I agree with try working from home. You really don't need that much. When I first started camming I used a really cheap (I think it might've been $25) webcam, not so great internet, and my computer was loud as fuck because of the fan. It always sounded like it was going to blow up. If your apt is too hot get a couple of fans if you can afford it.
