    Default your hustle...

Hi ladies new here I am curious how you discovered your stripper persona? I've been in the industry for 5 years so for me it was a lot of trial and error. But at home I'm very quiet I'm a mom of a 3yo!and a 4mo. So when I'm at work I am the seductive girl next door type with the southern twang to boot. I'm normally more fun and never bitchy. So how did you discover yourself as a stripper

I don't have a persona so much as I alter myself and my personality based on what the guy I'm sitting with seems to be looking for.

All a "stripper persona" really means to me at this point is simply me on confidence steroids, the emotional, non-alcohol induced equivalent of "beer goggles", and conversationalist crack.

Sometimes I can pull of "ditzy" if I need to, sometimes I can be a mysterious, down-for-anything sex goddess (but I do have a crazy sexual history and a very high threshold for shocking sex stories, so this isn't too far of a stretch, lol), but for the most part I can't deviate too far from my real personality - Which is basically the bubbly girl next door. I just make "me" more relatable to my customers via altered personal histories, fake stories, and a wide breadth of knowledge about a lot of things like places/sports/professions/hobbies/etc.

I've learned there are a few things I just can't pull off. I can't be relatable to "ghetto" customers (sorry if that's offensive to anyone), and I can't be a bitchy dom, as much as I would love to, I laugh too much and I would totally ruin it. I'm sure people sense this because in my 5+ years I've never been sought out by a sub.

Other than that, all systems go!

The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. I found that experience has helped me create who I am as a stripper. At first I was all friendly and nice like you would be at a vanilla job and I made money but as I watched other girls I realized guys like "bitches" and I experimented with this and I like this much better but as experience goes on I realize they dont all like it so as shanna said, you must just "become" what the guy is looking for if you want all the money or you will only appeal to a certain type of customer. I am still always trying to learn new ways tho, never stop!

I agree that just a one size fits all approach does not work!
I'm often like I am in real life- laid back and friendly. I was focusing on good conversation and relating to the customer. But time and time again those same guys are getting dances from the aggressive or party girls. So yeah their "I really like you", "I love talking to you", "you make me feel so comfortable" comments are flattering, But I can't take that to the bank. I find being more aggressive or a smart ass/joker works better for me.

I change my personality to suit the customer, but I am generally very direct about what I want and what I expect so that I don't get walked all over.

I don't really feel like I have hustle. I've been told that I have the "girl next door" thing going for me and that my hustle is that I don't hustle. I just kinda go with the flow though. But maybe that's why my money is lacking. I can't pull of being a bitch and I'm not overly aggressive. I used to make a ton of money but now not so much. I think I've lost my edge.

I feel like I'm too nice and 'girl next door'y, however it's really hard being a black girl and trying to create a perfect bitchy to girl next door balance, because I feel guys take one look at me, and my skin color and assume i'll be a tough, bad-ass bitch.

I got a CR out of one guy after he pulled the "I'm only here for the game" routine. I said "I bet you like those tight ends. Are you a faggot or something? You have a hot chick with huge fucking tits in front of you and you'd rather watch that?" He got an 60 and a 40 min.

I struggled with this too. I personally found that playing a sex kitten type character (sometimes my look is very retro hollywood glamour) while still being in control works the best. The times I let my relaxed nature show, it always means less money. We have it harder because a lot of guys make way too many assumptions based on our skin color. The other day while in rocker mode, some guy at the tip rail said I didn't look like I should be dancing to music that dark. I gave him shit for it and more $$ came my way because I had confidence and humor about his smart ass remark.
I don't think you have to be a bad ass bitch per se, but rather an amplified version of yourself who doesn't take any shit! Guys love to push our buttons to see just how much they can get away with. Being a stripper it's doubly so!
My 2c is that *especially* for us girls of color our look, music, and persona have to coordinate somehow. This applies to all skin colors, but we're also battling preconceived notions on how we should behave and dress as well. When I'm in a sex kitten mood, I dance to sensual music, strip very slowly (almost like a burlesque show), and I have a very classy hollywood look/persona. Think of Bettie Davis in All About Eve. When I'm in a rocker mood, I tend to make less money because my face looks so damn innocent. I haven't quite figured out how to make that work for me yet!

    They
I give guys a hard time for watching the game/tv/whatever too! Especially after I just got off stage. They either get a dance/tip or GTFO. I had only one guy leave though. He told me he was just there to watch the fight. I thought: WTF? Take your ass home. This ain't your cousin's house.

It depends on the customers. I generally like to be well-spoken and articulate because the clientele I target is typically white collar businessmen who are impressed by my intelligence and find it sexy. But if the customer isn't feeling it, perhaps he's uneducated or young, then I won't play up my ability to articulate myself. But being a good conversationalist helps out with big spenders.

I'm always bubbly and cute as well. I smile a lot and just try to exude sexiness. Sometimes I'll be ditzy, which guys find cute, but when I'm being ditzy I'm not necessarily dumbing myself down.

I also like to act like I'm the sexiest thing in the world, because guys like confidence and selling VIP's is about 'selling yourself' to the customer.

    Good luck!

Y'know, if we're being candid here... just being myself works. I don't have a problem admitting that I'm pretty awesome.
I can sell dances to a table of rowdy rednecks because it's easy for me to bring out Giggly Down-to-Earth Southern Girl. I can sell VIP's to architect/engineer guy because I can comfortably (passionately, even) discuss my favorite styles of architecture. Sometimes I have little bursts of comedic genius. I am sweet as pie, and just as humble, and I don't wig out all the time over stupid shit.
I have moments when confidence and assertiveness are more elusive to me than usual... just like we all do... but I'm pretty good at walking it off.
So, I went into this thinking I was gonna have this kind of dark, bad-girl, Snarly McFishnets persona... and yeah, never even went there.
So not necessary. Your real self, with the best parts exaggerated + details of your actual life fudged a little + a coat of Teflon= SuperStripper.

Yes, this. I've found that as WOC, men(mostly white men) are not as receiving of the bitch vibe. If you have melanin it definitely requires some softening.... Too much and you the "angry black woman" or head rolling finger snapping "oh no he didn't "type. I am very sincere and friendly but give off an air of expensiveness. I always have a champagne flute(even if there's ginger ale in it) mention VIP in the first few minutes (even if not directly selling it) and keep my head high, shoulders back and wear sparkly jewelry.I've been having success by making sure I let THEM draw conclusions about who I am and then just play along. I used to be too eager to be an individual , strip club rebellion I guess.

I am someone different when I work at my club I talk less about me and more about the client .no one really knows me I have like a shadow persona .i make crazy money at work but I try to separate that life with my real one .i never mix the two.im am the top earner at my club and I ever since the beginning I give out the feeling like I don't belong I'm uncomfortable and it works for me ,almost every guy I talk with say to me you don't deserve to be here lol right before they spend a lot of money one me .and the truth is I've never accepted being at a strip club it just feels someone knocked me over the night before and I wake up a lot of money .im always kind to my clients I hardly ever go up to a guy and I never give out the need of being desperate .im always well postured and I carry myself gracefully most of these things is really part of who I am but I find its not just being sexy and a professional at what you do it's more separating yourself from the crowd and creating a more untouchable fantasy girl persona
