    Default Birthdays

Well today is my birthday. my bf has spoiled me all day. I just feel kinda silly receiving gifts or being taken out to dinner , etc. It's funny when we get older how our priorities change. I almost would have rather logged on and earned $$ today instead of being treated like a "birthday princess" lol, anyone else feel this way?
Do birthdays become "exciting" again in your 30's ?

Maybe I'm just a big kid at heart, but I always look forward to my birthday. Especially cake. Lol

Birthdays haven't been a "thing" for me since my late teens. I had two jobs and was going to high school full time, and just got used to buying myself what I wanted when I wanted it, and it was always just the right thing / fit correctly / right color / etc. So, that has been my norm from then until now, and I tell people not to buy me anything. It never really got to be "exciting" again for me.

Despite my robot-like lack of emotions, however, I do realize that real people for the most part tend to be pretty into their birthdays, so for those people that I care about in some way, I will do something for them (flowers, sing a song, a meal, a gift, or whatever is right for them and the relationship).

Never cared about them ever, really. Even as a kid it's not like I couldn't berate my parents into getting me something anyway. And it's not like I did anything to deserve having one special day for myself. It's always seemed silly, and is just another day.
