Default Anyone else not like working club parties?

All the clubs here are starting to do theme parties every month or so... stuff like country western, docs and nurses, etc. One even had a Star Wars themed party. They can be fun sometimes.

BUT they give out a lot of free shit at these things... Tonight it's a "back to school" party and they're running free cover/drinks/t-shirts AND free dances for anyone with a college ID. I'm trying to convince myself I want to go in, but a big part of me is like "Greaaaat, dumb drunk frat boys who probably don't have any money and are only here because of all the freebies"... and free dances especially don't fly with me.

Does your club do these parties/giveaways? Any opinions?

My club doesn't do themes/parties, but your description sounds like my personal hell. I would definitely not go. How the hell can they force girls to give away free dances?! That is ridiculous.

^^ I haven't seen it at this club yet but at Christies they would run 2-for-1s... so you still got some money but still - they would suck up like, 3 songs doing an on-stage parade too.
When I worked at this same club (it's my old club but I went back after 4 years last night), they would pretty much announce the freebie and if you missed more than one of them, you would catch hell. Everyone just kinda followed the "rules", ya know?

I am definitely leaning towards "nope" and just working day shift tomorrow... it would be less of a hell if it wasn't college kids. I hate my own age group!

I second this! Like I'm not doing free dances if you want this stage fee.

The club I work at has been doing themes lately too. I guess to give a reason for customers to come in.
I kinda like the themes because the atmosphere is different. If you can't leave clubs at least you get a change of scenery without the expense of travel.

I'm not sure how it affects me money wise but the times I worked a theme I was in a generally good mood and there was decent amount of customers.

You should try it - or at least keep an open mind - you never know when a drunk frat boy will pull out a wad of cash he got from mom/dad

Depends on the club. At the last club I worked at, the parties all sucked because they'd bring in all the owners dumb young cousins and friends who'd just get bottles all night and not dances, and of course management who mandate that all the girls work. Another club I used to work at had great parties. They had a Christmas party last year and the club was literally packed, hard to find a place to even stand so it was impossible not to make money.

Ehhh... If you're in the mood to work and feel like it will be fun, you might as well go and see how it is. But if you have to convince yourself to go, I wouldn't bother. Whenever clubs in the past have done things like features, amateur contests, etc. - I always make less money. But then again I'm better at selling rooms than dances, so maybe the "wanna dance" girls that are better at quick sells do well.

Is it just 1 dance free with their college I.D.? If so, you could spin it by calling them "2 for 1's", if you do decide to go. Sounds like a bitch to me, though.

I'm curious, however - free cover, free drinks, and free dances? How is the club planning on making money tonight??

The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.”

I hate theme parties but luckily our club doesn't do free Dances of any kind, I would never go in for that.

Beats me! Hoping they'll stick around for more non free drinks probably.

Sooo I did not work the party and the girls on today said it was pretty much a bust - we are split in half (topless/nude) and only the nude side was busy, and it was as I expected with broke college kids. They said nobody made anything. So maybe they won't do any more "free shit" parties.
