Angry how long did it take you to start making good money?

I started dancing a month ago at a small club & the highest i made was over $300. I'm really frustrated because i left on a Friday night with $200. Could it be because I'm new? How long did it take you to make consistent good money?

Have you read Hustle Hut section? It can depend on your club/area/time of year too. Usually summers are slow everywhere, hopefully should start to pick up.

well, at first i made great money because of the whole new girl thing..then i went to not being able to pay house fee, or leaving with barely anything. that lasted months til i got the hang of it. i didn't have stripperweb at that time though, and you do so im sure it won't take that long!

Goodness, ages. I was a terrible earner for a long time, for a lot of reasons. I don't think I became a good earner until I'd been dancing for a few years, and I didn't become a GREAT earner until maybe my 5th year. Some girls walk in and do brilliantly from day one, but not me! It took me a while to claw my way to the top!
Like the others said though, read Hustle Hut. I didn't have that when I started, and it would have helped a lot. I had to learn from my own mistakes and by watching the other girls, and it took time.

It's a learning curve. Fresh meat money, Stripper Purgatory (where you've lost the fresh meat novelty but not established enough to cultivate regulars) then you hit your peak.

Maybe 6 months to break out of the $400-on-the-weekend ceiling. THEN BAM. MONEY TO DA CEILIN'! Then, I started working literally every night, sometimes just 5 nights, because I wanted to be a fucking baller. We hit the slow season a year in. I burned out a few months after that. Key concept: take breaks away from the club.

While you won't be able to tell exactly how much the other girls are making, are they all or mostly consistently busier than you? Like are they going in and out of the dance room/VIP/CR/wherever money is made while you only pop in a handful of times throughout your shift? If so, there must be higher earning potential than you're reaching, so read Hustle Hut over and over.

If not, it sounds like your club has a low earnings ceilings. That's fine, small clubs do sometimes. You can either be happy with it (which it sounds like you aren't) or try out a bigger club. There will be a learning curve there too, I'd imagine, since it'll be busier, the clientele may be different, and the hustle will just be different as well, but once you get used to it, you may increase your earnings.

If you can find a club with a great VIP/CR structure, you'll likely increase your earnings ceiling. Stacking dances is great and possible, but selling blocks of time is where the big money often is.

As for your main question - I was making fine money (about $300 a shift) and working sporadically and rarely. Only once I started taking dancing more seriously (ie. working more often and regularly, most importantly) did my earnings start to creep up (about $400 a shift, sometimes more). I should mention that my working often and regularly was also connected to a club switch, which I found had a higher earning potential. Still no VIP/CR structure, but more and better ($$$) clientele. The more I worked, the more regulars I accumulated and worked on my hustle, and the higher my earnings creeped. I really hit my stride this past year though, so it took me about 3 years (though I had a tendency of taking lots of breaks between shifts, so I wasn't working consistently throughout those 3 years, and I only ever worked full-time for 2-3 weeks in total) before I started making great money.

TLDR: treat dancing like a job - meaning you work often & regularly and improve your work-related skills (ie. hustle), and unless you're in a club with nowhere higher to go, your earnings should go up.

If you are one of the busier girls in the club then you may want to try a bigger club and try that out. My earnings increased when I went from sporadically working a dive to regularly being at a mid scale club. Then shot up when I moved to an upscale club and changed my look to typical stripper. Right around 5 yrs for me to feel confident that I will consistently be a top earner in this club. I also think that spending a few years here proving my work ethic and networking with staff helps immensely as I get hooked up with big spenders now.

Well I made 400 my first day and back then (I was only 18 at the time and had not worked in a strip club ever!) that was a lot of money but when I really started to make bank was a few weeks in, actually I would say a month in I started to make the real money. I think one of the main reasons it took me a while to make money is because I started right after tourist season. Remember that certain times out of the year are busier or slower than most so that could have a lot to do with things.

When I first started, I made TONS of money for being the exotic new girl... Then after a few months, I started making less money. That's when I decided to improve myself overall, I knew that I had to learn to be good at what I do and not depend solely on my looks. That's when I started making money again and now when it's slow, I always have some regulars I could count on to come visit me.

When I first started I was working at a dive that was pretty much only stage shows and no hustle.. And only the option of 10$ dances. It was hard to make more than 200 there. Then I moved to another club that was a little better (remember making 1000 in one weekend and was ecstatic) but I started drinking way too much and that hurt my money. Then the last club I worked at was amazing.. I was making 1000+ in a night some shifts and moved from being upset if I made less than 200$ to upset if I made less than 500$ (I prob averaged around 800$ a shift). This makes me wanna go back lol I plan to go back to that club after I graduate in two years. I've worked at alot of other clubs here and there - before I found my favorite one - that were so so and I only stayed at those for a few shifts.

Mind you this was over a span of 3 years so it takes some time to find a good club. I definitely shopped around and found which club I make the most at. Be patient and try a lot of them!

Edit: but when I first started at the club I banked at the first couple shifts I don't think I did very good because I was awkward at first with the lay out of the club and the nude dances. It did take a few shifts for me to get comfortable and really start making some good money. So I guess it depends..you will prob know if the club you're at has more money making potential or if 300$ really is the most you can make there. Good luck!

I made $110 my first night, back in 1999 before there was stripperweb or DancerWealth.

years. i started dancing when i turned 22, and now i'm 28, pushing 29. my first night was new year's eve, and i made $450, which wasn't bad. after that, i could only consistently make $200 to $300 for several years with an occasional $500 night, and this was before the market crashed. i also worked at one of the best clubs in NJ, where money should have been relatively easy to make.

i'm not sure how my hustle may have changed, other than an genuine desire to dance (whereas before dancing was only a means to and end--my college education), and a much better ability to listen to, watch and "feel out" customers/their body language. i really think every dancer eventually develops a sixth sense for smelling out money, lol.

only recently (around age 26 or 27) did i start having nights where i consistently make $500 to $700, with the (very) occasional $1k night. i also switched clubs and found a place where my look and personality is much more appreciated. i really feel like dancing is just like any other job--it takes time and experience.

This was what happened for me. I worked at a small club for a while during college because it was one of the few places that had a low stress environment and a flexible schedule. However the customers were not often the spendy type. When I left for a bigger, more upscale place my money increased because like what countcrabula said, my looks and personality were more appreciated there.
