So, I broke my ankle about a month ago. I had to have surgery on it right away, and I've been non-weight bearing ever since. I have about 3 more weeks to go before I can begin to put weight on it (in a boot) and start PT. So in total, I'll be out of work for about 2 months. Being out of work right now is killing me financially. Summer was slow anyway, but now that I still have all the same bills and no $$ coming in, I'm really struggling. I was hoping to get right back to work after I finish PT (in 3 or 4 inch heels....those were the shortest I could find.) However, all I've been hearing from people is that it's going to hurt to stand for extended periods of time, I won't be able to wear heels again, my ankle will never be the same, etc. I really can't afford to take any more time off work, and I honestly don't know what I will do if I have to. Has anyone here been through this? I could really use some words of encouragement right now.![]()
