    Sad Face Needles!

...Oh, how I long for face needles. Botox in the brow, Radiesse in the marionette lines & naso-labial area. Got a quote from my PS (the blonde, bronzed god who did my boobs)... yeah, $1500.
I've tried every angle and *cannot* get hubs to agree to this... and I'm a stripper, y'all, and a pretty good one, so the fact that I haven't managed a decent hustle on this issue speaks volumes.
How can I get him to see the value? He thinks I look young for my age (39) and I do, but that is starting to change. It happens, y'know, to the faces of human beings, as the years pass. But I'm not willing to just go gently into that good night, know what I mean?

what his issue with it? money? ( understandable).. or just his opinion on your looks ( not really his call, you should be able to do what you want with your body and do what makes you confident. thats your decision).
i mean, my man doesn't want me getting fake boobs or tattoos, but its my body and as long as im not out banging other men i feel i have the right to change it as i see fit, to make me feel better or express myself.

In my opinion if ur a dancer in her 30's botox is an absolute maintenance must and fillers for smile lines too. I get both and the cost is 100% justified. Your body is your business and this is the equivalent of keeping up your storefront. You may have an excellent product but if your storefront is drab then how do you expect to attract customers as easily? I just got my very first fillers done in my smile lines and have been doing botox for 8 years since I was 24. Maybe save the money incrementally so the cost isnt so much of a blow.

I totally agree with you, pipermonroe. I can't *look* 39, or even 30, and expect to rake it in like I want to in this business. And, it is getting more and more depressing to look in the mirror (especially the bathroom mirrors at my vanilla job) and see some undeniable creases happening... the kind that no amount of retinol can tame.
Mighty funny, he had NO problem with my $5000 BA, because he gets the benefit of big juicy pillows to play with.
And yes, Simone, it is elementally the money that is his main issue with this, but he also has a problem with what he conceives to be my overly critical view of my appearance, and what he feels are extreme measures to maintain it.
This is always true: "They" (the menfolk) naysay all that we do to stay pretty, but would miss it if we stopped.
Update: The deal is that I can get my $1500 face needles once I pay off my recent BA revision. Baby steps...

how much are you getting? fillers are not a one time deal and it wouldn't be wise to get a ton injected at once. you should start out with half a syringe of filler and 10-15 units of botox which should be $400-600 depending on where you are. wait a month for the swelling to go down, then reassess whether you want more or if you're fine with waiting 4-8 months for everything to completely disappear.

also I thought that radiesse wasn't used much anymore cuz there are better fillers out there. you should ask around and only pick an office that allows you to get botox by the unit and half syringes of filler.

whats the naso and labial area? Never heard of it.. but anyways, you can get groupon deals on those things, I get 20 units of botox for 100$ all the time. Sometimes they have the filler also but not that often. Also, a lot of med spas will give you a deal where you can finance your stuff and pay per month. Also, you can explain to him that waking up next to a hot girl every morning will make him happy, and you need maintenance to stay that way.

I forgot all about the existence of Groupon, apparently... but, yeah, that is a great idea! I could afford $100 like, right now!

Oh, and "naso-" = nose, "labia-" = lips... it basically refers to those lovely deep furrows we get between the nose & corners of the mouth. I'm probably making mine out to be way worse than they actually are, but I have always looked a solid 10 years younger than I actually am and all of a sudden that is changing, *rapidly*. It's entirely uncool.

go on www.groupon.com, sign up with an email account and pick your city and it will show you deals in your city. Also, living social has some as well, same concept but groupon usually has more med spa deals then living social.

I was going to say, there's a great magazine called New Beauty, it comes out only a few times a year, but it has tons of info on med. spas, anti aging products, various plastic surgeons, new in-office procedures, etc.
They might have deals in there? I believe they have a website too.

Thanks, y'all. I actually get about 100 emails a day from Groupon, but usually just mass-delete them without really looking. Not anymore... Hadn't really thought about Living Social, either, but I'll check them out, and the magazine too. Checked out Groupon yesterday & found nada, unfortunately. My PS has a "special" on Botox this month... "Bank Your Botox", wherein you purchase 100 units for $1000 to use throughout the year. Yeah, real special. No deals on fillers at all. Boooo.

10 dollars a unit is standard price not really a deal.

Yessum, I did... and there was nada. A couple of laser thingies, and some discounts on skin care products... that was it. I guess I just live in an area where medspas are stingy with their face needles? I dunno. There are only a handful of them within 20 miles of me, anyway.
