There's a discussion on the article here:

    https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...cle-On-Camming

Personally I really dislike any sort of publicity for camming. I don't want a flood of new girls who won't stick around, I don't want previously oblivious people knowing that it's a "thing", etc. I don't want to tell people I do customer service from home and have it even enter the average person's mind that it could be naked customer service, you know?

Something I think is helpful is that they didn't profile a girl who gets on late everyday, has no schedule, takes a week off here and there, and still makes bank. Miss Lollipop works really hard and while 8k a month is really good money, it's not exactly 10k a week. I think that might make it not worth it for girls looking to make an easy buck. Do not want the industry to get flooded with 5 billion new girls who have no idea about the negatives. I wish they'd focused on the issues beyond stalking (which is definitely a big issue), like the isolation I feel they didn't manage to get a handle on, what dealing with these people is like, etc. Although no one I know who's not a camgirl gets it. Even if they phone bank (which I've done), even if they work in customer service (which I've done) or hospitality (again, which I've done). It's different and harder and exhausting.

^ ITA. Why don't they ever focus on the customers?

I've NEVER seen anyone act as rude and entitled as some guys on cam do, in my entire life. I've never even heard of anyone acting like that. I don't see how our job is so interesting, anyway... we show up, try to make some money, and leave. Just like anyone else. I'd much rather gain some insight into the thoughts and motivations of some unemployed guy who spends 12 hours a day barking orders at strangers on the Internet who are just trying to do their jobs.

It is interesting to think about the WHY of which "issues" are addressed. Maybe I'm a cynic? It seems like (I can't recall specifically) that the articles I've read do address the physical dangers, such as customers stalking. But they don't mention "abusive" customers that aren't stalking. If I wanted to look at it from a psychological angle, I'd say that most of the interviewers have been guys. Pretty much anyone can "tsk tsk" a guy who actually stalks a camgirl, or puts her real info online for the world to see. I mean, that's straight up psycho behavior, right? But no one mentions how hundreds of customers coming through our rooms each week are there for the specific purpose of trolling, baiting, aggravating... whatever you want to call it. It's so COMMON (at least from what I've experienced, seen, and heard) that it seems perfectly normal behavior for a normal camsite customer, right? But no one really wants to look at that. There are tens of thousands of men who come to a camsite for the specific purpose of being an ass, and yet I've not seen that addressed? Why? Because that's fairly psycho behavior... yet it's pretty much the "norm". But if, as this article tries so hard to point out, the customers frequenting this site come from pretty much every walk of life, and seem to represent a good range of the population... why are so many of them asses?

I don't know if I'm making any sense. It's just one of the things I picked up on that was noticeably absent, and I was asking myself why. I mean, perfectly nice gentlemen are my customers too. They're addressed. But the jerks are a constant in my daily experience, aren't they in yours?

I would like to see an article from the cam performers side. Perhaps a reporter that goes on a cam site for the day to get a taste of what it's really like to be a cam performer. It would be nice to read about the customers that beg, cuss at you or expect free nudity. How cam sites are for PAID cam shows and not dating or escort sites. These articles never really cover the main issues like those at all. Also the 300 to 1 ration of customers spending money means the cam sites need to either change where they run ad's or crack down on the freeloaders. WTF?

Thanks. If cops can go under for stings, so can a reporter
