I recently ordered the Blue Snowball USB microphone to upgrade my camming sound.
I didn't think to look and see if my new windows 8 laptop would work with it or not and now I am reading that It is not compatible with windows 8 and there is not a driver for it as of yet atleast from what I have found.
My issue seems to be a little different than what everyone else on the internet is complaining about though, It's a USB plug and play microphone and my laptop picks up on it when it's plugged in and I am able to select it when filming teaser clips, ect. BUT I was not impressed with the sound at all, even very close to the mic the vlume of my recorded voice is very low, nothing worth 60$.
I also made two clips side by side, one with the snowball and one with my internal mic and I honestly couldn't hear any difference in quality or volume. I tried calling Blue but haven't reached anyone as of yet. I have toyed around with sound setting as much s I see I can but still nothing.
I am less than impressive when it comes to technology and am just curious if anyone else is having similar issues, When I google about it everybody is having trouble with their computer recognizing the blue mic not issues with the actual sound.
Thanks so much for any help.![]()
