    Duh Blue Microphone tech issue

I recently ordered the Blue Snowball USB microphone to upgrade my camming sound.
I didn't think to look and see if my new windows 8 laptop would work with it or not and now I am reading that It is not compatible with windows 8 and there is not a driver for it as of yet atleast from what I have found.

My issue seems to be a little different than what everyone else on the internet is complaining about though, It's a USB plug and play microphone and my laptop picks up on it when it's plugged in and I am able to select it when filming teaser clips, ect. BUT I was not impressed with the sound at all, even very close to the mic the vlume of my recorded voice is very low, nothing worth 60$.

I also made two clips side by side, one with the snowball and one with my internal mic and I honestly couldn't hear any difference in quality or volume. I tried calling Blue but haven't reached anyone as of yet. I have toyed around with sound setting as much s I see I can but still nothing.

I am less than impressive when it comes to technology and am just curious if anyone else is having similar issues, When I google about it everybody is having trouble with their computer recognizing the blue mic not issues with the actual sound.
Thanks so much for any help.

I have a blue mic as well but my computer is windows 7, it recognizes the mic fine and picks up the volume. I'm not sure if yours has the pattern and gain controls but if it does maybe try playing around with that. Also what program are you using to record the videos?

I ave a snowball. My BF bought it for me. I also run it on windows 7. I haven't really had tech issues with it. I noticed that if I start recording without it and plug it in after I have to restart my recording program for it to pick up the snowbal.l I have also noticed low sound, but it's WAY better than recording sound with my webcam. My webcam picked up some kind of weird buzzing or feedback, but the snowball filters out that kind of noise. It's just teaching me to be louder and more assertive with my vocals. I'm a mumbler so it's good training for me.
