    Default Does length matter?

Hello ladies I wanted to know your opinion on something. A friend and I were having a conversation about work and she feels that long hair doesn't matter in this industry. I personally feel that length of hair may not be a factor but I haven't seen many short haired dancers in our club. It seems like the women that I work with have medium/long hair. So what is your take on this does length matter???

It's what is commercially viable. I have a mohawk and make money in it, but the easier money is with a long wig on. The young guys love the mohawk and I do well with them but the money is with the PDOM's and I have a hard enough time with the tattoos as it is. no need to shoot myself in the foot.

Although I do wonder who looks above my neck anyways? My moneymakers are lower.

That's what I thought too but I figured that variety is what makes a good club so having women with various looks is appealing.

Tempest called it. I wanted to give a longer answer (on my way to work) but yes it does matter imo. Its kind of what was discussed in the colored hair thread. There is a "look" which is the norm and is successful and what many guys expect to see when they go to a club. I will have to link it to you when I get back. In terms of variety I am thinking about a club having girls of different races and body types.

You may or may not bank with short hair. But I can tell you in my experience short hair seldom banks. I made good money with my pixie but I had to hustle 10x harder for it. When I have my wig customers are "Oh, you look better with hair."

Think of a factory with an assembly line of products. The customers that buy the product all expect the same thing. If one looks out of place it usually gets discarded.

I will never be a bleached blonde, tanned, perky Pamela Anderson clone. But I've modified my look to be a bit more "Barbieish". (slimmed down, wig, took out all facial piercings, keep crazy music to a minimum)

It depends on the club. A high end club is probably going to want Disney princess hair. Dives and mid tier clubs may be more forgiving depending on mgt and customer demographics. What we think is appealing doesn't matter. I would have a club with all tatted chicks sporting facial piercings and mohawks with Pantera blasting 24/7 if it were based on what I thought was appealing.

It's just easier and more profitable to conform. Trust me on this. You will save yourself a lot of time and money.

long hair is usually safest. its feminine. most guy's love it. but in my experience a very curvy, feminine, GORGEOUS woman with a lot of confidence could pull off shortish hair. maybe even real short hair. but in general, long hair banks. it absolutely matters, at least with most girls..i have long hair, mid back but when i wear extensions my money goes up. longer the better

I don't think I've ever met a guy who prefers short hair over long hair in women.

I'm not naming names but one SW member I recently met has short hair, is absolutely fucking GORGEOUS...perfect 10. She worked at the most upscale club in my area and wears wigs. So if she's wearing em, odds are everyone should follow suit.

Invest in quality extensions/wigs/weaves. Don't get the cheapest ones.

The only short hair I've ever done well with is an A line cut, where the back is a bit shorter and longer in the front, kinda like that Victoria Beckham's look back in the day. Other than that, I've always worn long, flowing hair. I've also noticed that when my hair is straight I tend to do better than when it's curled. A lazy beach wave also does well, too. If you're a WOC, sometimes the "natural" look works, depending on the club you're in. I'm mixed and I look Latina/Alicia Keys-ish, and have done my hair that way and banked, just because I stood out amongst a sea of white girls.

But yes, ultimately, longer is better. Also, to save yourself some money, check out hair reviews on YouTube, and how those girls fix their weaves/wigs/u part wigs, etc. There's so much you can do, and you really don't need to spend THAT much money. Personally my wigs cost around 200-400 dollars (I'm an addict, lol) but they last me 6 months to a year with proper maintenance.

Yes..also, to me wigs always need thinning/cut/styling, & they have a tool you get to take out the shine.

I think length makes a big difference at work. Most guys love long hair, and since they are the ones that pay me, I cater my look to what they want.
Tempest is right. Upscale clubs often really prefer long hair to other hair styles.
I know there are tons and tons of gorgeous girls with all different lengths and styles, but I think long hair in the club will ultimately be a money maker!

I think long hair is safest everywhere except Oregon. I feel like my long hair really worked against me there... Those short haired and bald headed ladies took all my money!!! I don't know why short hair isn't more popular. Necks are sexy!

    I have short hair.

I cut off my shoulder length, bleached blonde hair in March to have natural hair again. I cut it into a pixie and am STILL growing it out.

I took a significant hit to my income. Sometimes I wear a wig, sometimes not. The guys I make a lot of money off of without a wig are usually short-hair fetishists or computer guys (weird).

Currently, I wear my hair back with a headband in a pin-up sort of way. My earnings are back up, but it's because I'm now presenting a pin-up image instead of a "girl with short hair" image.

Some of the higher-up clubs refused to let me work with super short hair, so I had to buy a few nice wigs. Though I'll admit, it was kinda cool to play drag-queen dress up all the time.

There is a girl I work with that has a pixie and I have the Mylie Cyrus haircut. Like Tempest, we can make money with our real hair. But we wear wigs so we don't have to deal with college kids and make our nights easier. Plus if customers want to see my real hair I make the go to the VIP room ($20) an pay me an extra $10.

I think it does. I have medium length hair and wear extensions that are only a couple inches longer than my hair just to add more length and it looks "strippery."

It also depends on the hustle. My best friend has been dancing for about a year and when we danced together in Detroit she made good money and her hair is very short, like pixie-cut short.

I loved the Disney movie Rapunzel, but she did not look nearly as hot once she lost her long blonde locks. Rapunzel went from spectacular to ordinary.

I bleach my hair and add extensions and I hate it! But it banks, so I happily put up with the 'barbie' look.

Also wiggin' it lets me real hair rest. I haven't had my car to get my sides buzzed so I've just been wearing the wig @ work and babying the shit outta my hair with olive oil masques and stuff.

I know that everyone thinks that the rules of Stripperland don't apply to them and that they're going to be the "exception to the rule." Odds are you are not that exception. Rule #137 in Stripperland states: 98.9% of customers prefer long hair. Whether it's a wig, extensions, yours, who cares. It's just easier that way.
