I really like this stuff:
It starts out gradual, but it starts to show results a little while after putting on and by the end of the day you'll look noticeable darker. Pros are that I have had no streaking with this product (just be careful around your toes) and I don't turn orange. Con is it's pricey.
Otherwise I heard this stuff is pretty good:
I haven't used it myself but may pick some up today to see how it works.
L'Oreal sublime bronze is definitely great for showing color right away - and as far as self tanners go, it's not too stinky. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that it has tons of glitter in it - which is fine for SC but not so much when you're out in public and sparkling like a Twilight vampire. It's really that noticeable, at least on me - I've had people comment.
Another good one is Neutrogena's Micro Mist but it doesn't show color as quickly as L'oreal.

^Yeah just read reviews. Some people say they mix it in lotion to tone down its shimmer. Others say that when they leave it on overnight and shower the glitter off the next day it looks good.
^The glitter never comes off in the shower for me. It sucks, because the color looks great - which is hard for me to find because I'm super pale and get no natural color, ever. I've decided to just rock the whole pale thing for the time being. Every home sunless tanner I've tried has something wrong with it, whether it's shimmer or smell or slimy-ness, and I'm far too lazy and thrifty to spray professionally on a regular basis.
Oh! Speaking of, though, if you want to go and get it done at a tanning salon, whirlerz, the Mystic booths have a booster that makes the color show instantly, and it works really well.

i always use loreal sublime bronze self tanner! love that stuff! any kind of self tanner by them is good but yeah take a shower before going out..i usually put it on the night before, let it dry while i sleep then take a shower. it shows up the next day, but takes me two days to get it perfect and really dark.
once again, there's the sally hansen stuff. that's totally immediate.
i'm really thinking about getting it done professionally like summerbre mentioned, just the price kinda scares me away when i could just slather my own self tanner on when i want for like 6 bucks.

Hey Girlz, I went on ulta.com & then the nearby store, I got "Hot Tan" Instant Cosmetic Bronzer, "salon quality" developed in Aussie! It has only 4 reviews, but they're all 5 star. They also make a self tanner & a scrub. It's 16.99
I'll let you know how it works. I like the idea that it can just wash off, sometimes I don't get the self tanners right & they get streaky, although I've had good luck w/the Jergens darker one..it doesn't show up dark at all & I usually sit in the sun for a few (10 min) to help it along. Today was overcast though.

i use sally hansen's airbrush leg spray. it's supposed to cover up spider veins/blemishes on legs but i use it over my whole body. it doesn't make the pole or stage slippery and i get a nice insta-tan that comes off in the shower. it's ten bucks at walmart and kroger.
+1 for L'Oreal. I like the shimmer. I've never had a customer say anything about it. Put it on right out of the shower a couple of hours before you head to work & you'll be fine. And you can find it in any major drugstore for $10ish.

^I just bought some earlier this evening and slathered it on (mixed with some lotion). I do like the shimmer, but wouldn't it get sticky and gross if I start sweating while I am working? So far I do notice a difference since its tinted and I like it.

I've thought about using the lotion version of that stuff^ for all over... the aerosol kind worked fine for legs, but the last can I got smelled *exactly* like fried chicken grease... perhaps I just got a bad can?... anyhoo, seems like the lotion version might be easier to apply... but, I sweat a LOT when I dance... as in, I have to dab dab dab with a towel every single time I get off stage or even do a private dance. Wonder if the stuff would rub off in that case.

I've heard it does rub off, Freckles. Not sure about the lotion one, but the spray does, I've heard

Loving the L'Oreal sublime bronze (medium dark). I use a little sponge brush from the paint store for my back, and gloves for the rest of me so I dont get orange hands. Put lotion on my ankles, elbows and hands to tone it down in those areas, and apply with the sponge. I stay naked for about an hour after application, then go to bed. Next day shower and most of the glitter comes off (Im 46, glitter looks a little silly lol) and it looks nice. Usually do it again the next night and is good for a few days. Can use blow dryer on low to kind of hurry along the drying process. All the tanning bed places have closed nearby me. Next step is a home bed, or professional spray..but this works for now.

Wow you look incredible, thanks for the tips! I returned that bronzer (it washes off, it's not a tanner) to Ulta, it seemed a bit pricey for 16.00, & a smallish tube at that. I put some on my arm, it didn't seem to do much

I know there are threads on this already, but unless your club is in a very cool, dry climate and you do not sweat ever, please stay away from the Sally Hansen spray makeup. It will get everywhere.

Going to update this. I put on the L'Oreal Sublime Bronzer very early in the morning and went to work later that night. I did feel slippery because although it was dry on my skin, as soon as I got on stage and started to sweat it felt like a thin layer of slime on my skin.
I do like it considering the price, but if you aren't careful then it does have a tendency to streak. You just have to put some Vaseline around your toes, ankles, knees, elbows, and fingers. Or wherever that stuff tends to deposit and leave dark marks. Also when you stop using the stuff for a few days and it begins to wear off, it makes your skin look splotchy and uneven until you reapply it.
I'll probably switch back to the Clarins Mousse since it didn't streak and gave me an even and dark look. Whenever I had to stop using it for a few days the color gradually faded and didn't have the splotches.
