Default Hustling VIP really worth it?

I'm working in the mid-west area of the states now, yes home of the $10 lap dance. Joy! On top of that this club only has VIP available, no champagne rooms. The VIP rooms are two sectioned off areas and are 'semi-private' meaning their are other adjacent booths for more customers to sit. However this club is pretty popular and I often make out fairly well here.

The club charges customers a $20 VIP entry fee and $20 a dance in the VIP after that. The club was also charging girls $20 for the first time they go in VIP, which didn't bother me too much. I just made sure the guy wanted to do more than just a few dances to make it worth it to me (or even try to sell blocks of time - some DJs make it really hard to do this though).

But with fall season getting busier I guess management is getting greedier...because now along with our $20 first time VIP fee, they now want us to hand over an additional $10 for every individual guy we take to VIP. Although you can make money twice as fast in VIP, idk sometimes it doesn't seem worth it.

Or what do you girls think? Should I set a min. dance amount, blocks of time, or stick to the floor? Anyone have any similar situations..what are your strategies?

Double the money makes it sound worthwhile to me, even with the $30 fee going to the club. That's only a dance and a half, which is pretty insignificant if you can get someone for a half hour or hour. I would really push for selling blocks of time for VIP and trying to avoid floor dances. There are a ton of threads on here about that, so definitely check those out.

As for the DJs, do you tip them? If you land yourself a customer who wants to spend an hour in VIP with you, slip the DJ a tip and I'm sure he'll be willing to skip you. Or just pay attention to the rotation and don't sell more time than you know you have.

It's mandatory to tip the DJ. Once we're in VIP, the DJs take us off rotation. What I meant was that the DJs are kind of in charge of VIP. By default they are supposed to tell customers "$20 a dance for every song you are back with Miss So-and-so", so it forces you to be creative with how you sell blocks of time. The DJs that I love are lazy and don't say anything, so I can say whatever I want to sell VIP.

Have you tried tipping the DJs you don't love/aren't lazy a bit more to not say anything when you're going back with a client? I guess if that doesn't work, you can just sell a minimum amount of dances when those DJs are in, and revert back to the block of time with others. I mean, unless you're overcharging for the block of time, it'll end up being the same as a minimum amount of dances so you can just explain that to the customer when the DJ brings up the $20 a dance.

It depends on how much of a cut the club takes.

I think I'm *mostly* going to have to stick a minimum amount of dances in VIP. Thanks shanna.

On a related note / rant, last night was terrible. It was a slow Sunday and I walked in on a girl bobbing her head in VIP. I laughed it off with my customer and went into another room but boy, did that depress me. I had no idea who that girl was. Guess some girls feel they don't make enough money and that's the only way they can. SAD.

I usually try to sell multiple dances instead of VIP's. Especially if it's a nasty old man I just want to get it over and done with, then move on to the next one.

hahaha! omg me too! Sometimes you make more off the single dances than you would the VIP bc some rooms are priced pretty low so you figure after a few $30 dances plus a tip after you've made good money plus you prob wouldn't have to tip out as much at the end of the night.

I would figure out how your non-head bobbing co-workers deal with this so you can do something sorta similar. If they are all doing a min of 3 songs, then you don't want to only sell 45 min blocks of time. In past situations like this, I've always done a min of ___ songs, depending on the situation (and whether or not the songs are the radio edits--cut around 3 or 4 min. Or if the songs are techno songs or are going on for 8 minutes at a time). Songs are generally easier then blocks of time. You don't have to watch the clock and your customer doesn't get to argue/worry about the exact time. Easier to just count songs.

If the club is charging $10 for every unique customer that night, I think it would be wise to (if your club allows this) charge by blocks of time. 10 minutes (3 songs), 20 minutes (about 5 songs), half an hour (a little less than 8 songs) to make it worth your while. Keep that guy in there for as long as you can to make that $10 fee have less of an impact on your earnings. Going slow and stretching time is a good idea... if your club allows guys to extend your time you can really give the customer a nice, slow-paced experience. Nothing rushed. Your bank account will thank you.

Ask for a receipt every night for the cost of doing business there to take off your taxes... haha

But truly get a receipt it is a tax write off & we all know they are pocketing the money without paying the IRS. It might get them to stop.

There's never one "right" answer. Sometimes it's worth it to go to VIP, especially with a RED personality who WANTS the special treatment.

Have you tried adding the extra $10 to the customers cost to go back there? a yellow or blue personality type would have no problem paying it. Only greens will nickel and dime you, in which case you'd be better off staying on the floor.

It's what she teaches in the Strip & Grow Rich program linked through her siggy. The colours are different categories of customers you'll come across in the club and it describes how to hustle them.

Whoops forgot about this thread. Thanks for all the responses. Just decided to set a dance minimum. Most guys don't seem to like it but whatevers. It keeps the cheap ones (read: annoying or grope-y) from going in VIP with me.

At my main club it's not worth it to hustle VIP's. The contact isn't much different than the LD area and the time that I'm down there with Grandpa I could be hustling more dances.
