My (boyfriend's) Hyundai is out of commission and I'm browsing for a car. In the meantime I bought a bike and am riding it to work. I love it!!!
Anyone else bike/walk to work?

I walk. The streets are way too busy between home and the club for me to want to bike. My city also has lots of cyclist deaths, which really deters me from biking anywhere near/on streets. I do love walking to work though! I've done it throughout most of my dancing career. It's free, so less overhead coming out of my earnings! It only sucks when the weather is less than stellar, but I've never been too far off.

No, I wouldn't be againist it..however the clubs are just too far/not great neighborhoods.

I wanted to bike to work too! I live in Chicago so commuting by cycling is pretty common. My fiancé freaks out every time I try to hop on the damn thing though![]()

Yep..pretty crazy, the city traffic. I've actually had some really bad experiences on a bicycle..this's going back a few years, riding strictly for fun..I had a car zoom up behind me (I didn't hear it, wasn't listening to music or anything!) a guy reached out & slapped me HARD on the ass, I almost fell..guys in car laughing, & sped off
I had a guy grab my boob also..ugh & a couple other ugly incidences..I just wouldn't trust my area, esp. in the context of dancing![]()

I live in the Bywater and work in the Quarter so any other mode of transportation would be pretty ridiculous.

Worked at a club in a fairly small town and got stalked as a result of biking home... A group of customers watched me leave on my bike, figured I lived nearby and followed me home. It was bad. I maced one of those d-bags. Then I moved. Ever since then, even in bigger cities, I get sketched out when I bike/walk home. Especially when I'm packing a bunch of cash in my bag. Even in a car, I get paranoid sometimes. If I get a weird feeling or think I see someone following me, I'll drive home in the most inconvenient possible way and make a few circles before I get home.
I live in Toronto which is a pretty bike-friendly city and although I'll bike a lot of places, work isn't usually one of them. I've done it a few times, but the sketchy neighbourhood the bar I work at is in is kind of a big deterrent. School, vanilla job, friday night adventure, all places that I'm totally willing to bike to, and prefer it because it adds more excersise to your day. The sweatiness also messes with my make up which is another con to riding to work. Glad you like it though! Ever get nervous about someone mugging you at a stop light or something? That's pretty much my biggest fear: getting robbed on the way home in the middle of the night.
