That lady really inspired me to work on my abs because I have no kids and my stomach looks like shit. I haven't really tried that hard so I have no reason to whine. Anyone else have tips on ab workouts beyond the norm?

Lay faceup on your bed w/ sm1 sitting on your legs to anchor you. Scoot off so everything above your hips is off the edge of the bed & do crunches, letting yourself bend backwards a bit each time like you're overextending.

Leg lifts - lay on your back, hands under your ass, legs extended, but don't just go straight up&down - arc your legs side to side to work other muscles in your sides.

Shoulder mounts on the pole, especially when you're able to start them w/ your feet already off the floor. Do the mount fully each time, as many as you can w/o putting your feet back down, bringing your legs down slowly each time. It's a pure-strength move so it will also be very good for your biceps &/or lats, depending on what grip position you're using.

Idk how much of a pole trickster you are, but you can do sm wicked side crunches from the knee-hold position.

Pilates based ab exercises are amazing for toning/flattening your stomach e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mejNKFOcP08

Some people just don't naturally have abs though. Or they have thicker thighs, thicker whatever. Like the woman in the picture, she looks like she is naturally really petite everywhere. So I wouldn't worry.

^This is true. Even when some people loose weight or train like animals they still don't have a six packs. It's just genetically unattainable for some. It doesn't mean that you can't achieve a flat, toned stomach or improve they way you currently look though, just eat clean, train dirty and most of all be realistic . Btw way you are already in great shape and should be proud of your journey and the determination it took to get there!

Thanks everyone! I didn't really focus on abs too much. Realistically speaking will I look like that lady? Probably not. But like olive said I can improve what I have!

"the bicycle" exercise kicks my ass ( or, abs rather)! lay on your back and go into crunch position cycling your legs and keeping your stomach muscles tight. or static exercises of laying flat on your back and body straight, then lifting both your straightened legs slightly and holding them there. hard to explain but they work! i think just having a nice toned flat stomach is awesome, no need for a six-pack ! but that's just me
