No alcohol.

No smoking, for sure!! Also keeping a healthy weight, regular exercise... Don't get stressed out, don't get old, don't be genetically disposed to hypertension.... As far as controllable factors go, I think a balanced, low sodium diet, exercise and not smoking are the big ones.

Yeah I don't drink..or smoke but am around smoke cause of the roomz ugh

I do, I was on meds to manage it for a while, but it lowered a bit. I still have to control it- at one doctor visit it will be just under the "high" threshold, then another week it will be too high. I was able to talk my doctor out of prescribing anything by telling her I had a big argument before walking in the office.
I limit fried foods, watch my sodium intake using an app that tracks everything I eat.
Even on the days I don't leave the house I try to do some exercise in the living room.
I don't smoke ever. I'm doing my best to control my anger. I know that I'm suppressing my anger as opposed to lashing out. I don't know which is worse. The people I live with constantly harass me about what is bothering me. I say "Nothing", but they know. I'm currently looking for ways to deal with this, no such luck yet.
No alcohol? Well, that's not gonna work for me.
