My cat is really naughty and will do whatever he wants. If I try to alter his plan for himself, he will meow non-stop until he gets his way. So I just let him do whatever he wants.
I've had cats all my life and usually when they want to do something, they're just gonna do it :/ I hope he/she stops soon though...

Before I get on cam I get everything ready to go, then I take 20 minutes or so, give my kitty so much attention, playing and petting and petting till she is sick of it and walks away. Most of the time this buys me an hour or two - rinse and repeat!
My cat was an adult when he came to live here so he was/is pretty mellow and learns things easily. He's learned that when mommy is talking to the computer he cannot get on the bed. It just took a lot of constant physical redirecting, like if I would see him about to walk into view of my cam feed I would put my hand on his forehead to prevent him from walking any closer. He quickly learned that the area immediately around my computer setup is off limits to him when I'm talking at the computer. He'll still come and lie down a few feet away from me but just keeping him at arms length several times seemed to do the trick in teaching him where the boundaries are.
If we haven't cuddled too much that day he will sometimes insist on bonding time before I get on cam. In that case I just have to spend the 10 or 15 minutes snuggling until he's okay with being apart. Oh, he has high anxiety and severe attachment issues due to whatever happened to him before he came to live here (I took him in off the street). If he genuinely needs some reassuring I really just can't cam to be honest, his well being comes first, but luckily it never takes longer than 15 minutes or so for him to get his fix and slink away so mommy can get back to work.
Is your cat a kitten with high energy who has a hard time focusing, or an adult like my boy who just always wants to be near you?
Nate (my cat) has a couple of favorite spots that make him feel secure, two of which are a short cardboard box, and a kitty cube I bought him that he loves to play with and sleep in. Maybe get your kitty a favorite spot and put it in the same room as you? This way he/she can still be near you and see you, but he/she will have their own space so they don't need to invade yours?
This is the kitty cube I got Nate. They sell them at WalMart. I got mine from the Dollar General for $3. It's his second favorite thing in the world:

Cats are a serious pain, since they like to be so close to their owners. I know a lot of cats with follow from room to room, to just be in the presence of everyone >.< I used to have to lock my cat in the bedroom for each show, but I have the luxury of not live streaming on MGF, so I can kick the cat out of the room for only short bits of time and she is okay with it.
I know SM is really cracking down on the cat thing on cam...which is STUPID. Cats just like to sit on the bed and chill.
Hell, I think cats are a great conversational piece...guys love when cam girls have pets...they feel included in her life knowing about them.
edit: Speaking of cats...you know how many times i'v been doing a closeup for a photoset and I see my cats head pop up over my shoulder like "WTF ARE YOU DOING?!"....ruins so many of my photos! LOL
do what lots of other girls do and just give my cats alot of attention before i cam and then give them lots of things to play with. As far as SM cracking down on cats, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the rule was that you could not be naked or doing anything sexual with a pet in view of the shot. So basically i let them do what they want but when it comes time to private shows, I have a spray bottle handy right beside my bed/couch/wherever to shoo them away if they come too close while I am performing.

give them stacks of cardboard or a suitcase, they will spend more time sleeping in these like a baby.![]()
Your Camming Bookmarks!

Most cats dont like the smell of citrus. Spray it around your cam space. Some pet stores sell something like it. Just make sure theres no chemicals and test out how your cat reacts to it first.

Refocus their attention. Open a window so they can watch the birds and squirrels outside, tire them out with a game of chase-the-red-dot, give them a catnip mouse to roll around and attack, make a new spot away from camming that looks appealing (like a cat tree with lots of blankets near by and toys).
Or, if they are persistent use a spray bottle. My kitty hates water and I don't even have to spray him anymore just have to simply threaten him by bringing the spray bottle out lol.

Lol I don't. It's a pointless battle that you won't win. Instead, try negotiation - here look at this lovely comfy bed I made you on the OTHER side of the room, and these yummy treats for lying in it![]()
He is an adult cat who ended up losing his owner because of health problems and was locked in a room for the last little while.
I will try your suggestion of giving him lots of love before I start camming. I feel horrid now because I chased him out of my space and all the hard work I've been doing to build trust with him I have now pretty much ruined.![]()

I dont have a cat anymore. Just a dog who thankfully can't get on the bed so he paces back and forth until eventually he takes a nap on rug. But when I did have a cat I would use a water gun to squirt her. Only problem with that is she was soooo forgetful that she'd forget that water comes out of the thing and come back 20 minutes later. And then the cycle would start all over again. Have you guys seen that tumblr about camgirls/pornstars and their cats? Can't remember the name but it's pretty funny.

I use this. My cat likes to use it as a scratching post...

try having the cat in the bathroom while you work, and check on them every 90 minutes. I have two cats but I am able to leave them in my living room while I work in my bedroom. if you have small space but at east a closet or bathroom them in there with their littre, toys and water.

I usually give them attention beforehand and then feed them right before I'm about to get on. Because after they eat, they sleep, so that buys me at least 2 hours.
However, when they don't want to sleep and want to play with me while on cam instead, the guys never complain, they're actually amused. They tip to see me do "cat bra". (aka, holding a cat in front of my boobs with no bra on) hahaha.
Just have fun with it! Cats are gonna do whatever they want, no matter what.

I can't relate but that sounds like a nightmare! I have two cats but I have a dedicated office that they're not allowed in ever. Otherwise I would have fur everywhere, one cat insisting on sitting on the bed, and the other sitting on the floor being his VERY vocal self. Hell, the door is frosted glass, and I got so fed up of them sitting outside staring in that I put paper all over the glass so that they can't distract me!

Sorry, but I would NOT recommend this! I think it's a bit cruel to leave any cat in such a confined space for an extended period of time (like, more than a few minutes if there's no other choice), but especially considering that JAC's cat (like mine) has some issues with being abandoned and JAC stated that he was already locked in a room, shoving him in a tiny bathroom is going to make his anxiety 10x worse!
It sounds like your cat really likes you since he constantly wants to be around you. Use this to your advantage! Every animal is different but I find that rescue cats are very, very eager to please and they pick things up a lot quicker because they want to make you happy and don't want to disappoint you. In this case because you are dealing with a kitty with some extra emotional needs I would absolutely recommend the method I used with mine and just repeatedly hold him back at arms length so he can't be seen on cam until he gets the hint. Nate picked up the boundary lines of where he is and is not allowed to go super quickly. I'm sure your kitty will do the same. Since he's already lost one owner I think it's that much more important for him to feel like he has constant access to you. Seriously, my cat literally will not eat until I am in the same room as him (thus his food and water dishes are permanently in my bedroom). He even sits on top of the toilet every single morning while I shower just staring at the tub and waiting for me to finish. Which is actually SUPER cute, I'll just be leaning over to shave my legs and suddenly there's this adorable furry black face peeking around the shower curtain looking at me, but it's also SUPER sad when you realize that he doesn't fully grasp object permanence and is terrified that I'm going to disappear forever unless I am constantly in his sight. If I can train a cat like Nate to stay off cam I am so beyond positive that you can teach yours with enough consistency.
(And also, pictures please, because I am a sucker for animals.)

Wow you guys have really obedient cats. None of that would work with my cat.
^Heh, I think it goes back to homeless cats being super appreciative of you taking them in and being scared that if they mess up you'll put them out again (of course I would never do that, but when Nate first came to live here he wouldn't even meow he was so well behaved; now that he is comfortable and feels secure he can be a real crazy loudmouth, lol). Nate can be naughty at times but only when it comes to little stuff- the stuff I'm not consistent about correcting him on. So he'll still jump up on the kitchen counters from time to time because *I* don't stay on him the way I should. When I'm consistent he is super quick to pick things up and follow the rules.
I recently rescued a Bengal kitten from a shelter and she is a handful! I will be doing my "sexy time", close my eyes for a second and when I open them and look at the screen I see an extreme close up of kitty nose or the ceiling fan. Most of my custies laugh about it and I apologize profusely. They say they don't mind cause it proves I am a 'real person' (whatever that means), but I am still worried about getting banned one of these days.
I have sheets on my wall as a background and when kitty is feeling super-bad she decides these sheets are her personal climbing walls and will climb the sheet to the top, rebound off the wall, run around the room and repeat....
Also one time I was doing a 'barely legal' role play where I had a bunch of stuffed animals on my bed and was just playing with them. On the cam this 'lump' appeared under my blanket and scooted over to one of the stuffed animals. there was a quick flash of paw, and then the stuffed animal just glided across the bed and off the side. My custie was like 'um... ghosts?' and we laughed for a good 5 mins when I explained what happened.
I live with my parents... my husband, cat, and I are crammed into a single bedroom. I don't have anywhere that I can put my kitty usually just beg her to be good. I have found that if I pet on her until she relaxes I can usually put her next to me on the bed, out of frame, and she will be content to just lay there.... most of the time...
