I don't know about buying it online, but you don't need to see a derm to get that. Any MD or APRN can hook you up. Just go to a regular clinic. That will be WAY cheaper than a derm...

Hmm... That sucks. I got scripts for retina A for 3 years from various APRNs. It would cost around $70 bucks... (I never had insurance). I say a derm once and it was about $250. Retina A (I thought) was really easy to get. It's not like I'm trying to get morphine and adderall! Sometimes they'd suggest something different, but I'd tell them that benzyl peroxide was too harsh and that salicylate acid didn't work... Retina A doesn't usually have many neg effects unless you are knocked up or tan. But that sucks you have had trouble getting it! Careful when you order online. A lot of the meds you buy online are from other countries and are not the drugs they are supposed to be. It's like buying Mac on eBay from China. That stuff is not really Mac.

I think you might be thinking of the All Day Chemist recommendation. I've never ordered from them, and I have read a lot of warnings about using credit cards with them (and they do not offer PayPal), so I can't personally vouch for them, but there is a lot of information online if you google. I think you can buy a prepaid card at WalMart or somewhere like that and use it to pay without risking your debit/credit card number too.

Yeah, they're in UK (or somewhere not US) so there's like a big shipping charge..
Ok, what I'm doing is going on Ebay, idk if they have the actual medical retinin, but they have a product (sold by a top rated seller too) Revaleskin, it's also sold on skinstore.com, & some other onliners..it has a strong antioxidant/anti aging ingredient coffeeberry.
It was also listed in Allure mag as a top rated product, good ratings online retailers as well. I am going to try the sample packets, they're still a bit high, but if you buy the full size product it's way cheaper than the online retailers.

I get a scrip when I get my yearly pap. I've also gotten a scrip from my dentist before. the only time I went to a derm that wasn't giving me a treatment she tried to sell me some stupid $600 organic package and said she didn't want to prescribe me retin a. what a waste of time andmoney.

Wow!^! Yeah, I was at a 'med. spa'/derm dr. to apply for a job, she had a separate store, I went in there & they gave me some recommendation..I think Skinceuticals was one of them

yeah i'd be very careful online..a lot of stuff isn't what they say it is, and some just take the money. i know it TOTALLY sucks to pay to see a doctor or derm and its so expensive , i'm in the same boat as you are..i just finished my last bottle, and my doctor i go to monthly won't perscribe it, so i gotta pay to see ANOTHER doctor. its much safer that way though :/

If you have been taking it for years and have barely any results maybe you should see a dermatologist and take whatever stupid thing they prescribe.

that was who wouldn't perscribe for me bastard. i pay him $200 to see him for 5 minutes once a month and he wouldn't even do that for me. idk why, he definitely could..it just wasn't for "mental health" or something. the last one was really chill though and that was who prescribed for me the last time, so give it a try if he seems laid back

any md has the capability to prescribe it and its probably the least harmful thing they can prescribe (besides prescription vtamins or tylenol lol). just tell your psych youve used it forever, you just ran out and you can't afford to see a derm. its not a big deal. I'm pretty sure my last birth control pill was prescribed by my psych because my gp was out of town.

if you can bring in an old bottle most mds will write you a new scrip for anything. retin a is not a big deal at all but if you have an old tube bring it in to show your doc. I do this all the time since I travel so much.

can you get a new one? sounds like a douche if he's getting 200 for five min.

If it expired in 2011 a good guess is you have been using it for a while. Um....maybe your horrrrrible acne is something else and the dermatologist can help you. I wouldn't want acne face either.

I would get a green dot card and order from All Day Chemist.

Ditto on that. I read a lot of other beauty forums where people order from ADC all the time (especially retin a) and they're happy with the price/product. A green dot card would definitely keep you safe instead of a cc.

It expired in 2011 because I was prescribed it a long time ago, and stopped using it after a month because I didn't use it correctly and it dried out my face like crazy. It's expired because I didn't use it. That's why things expire. Because they're not used ... Duh?

Anyway, thanks for being not helpful at all. Lol.
You don't have an acne face. I didn't even realize you had acne honestly. It must not be that bad at all.

i would but my psych the only guy in town that can prescribe me the meds i need, all the other doctors are at their "limit" of patients..its a total rip off but i just gotta take it up the ass and bear it i guess
just went to get nose/cheek fillers from a plastic surgeon today and convinced him to write me a script for retin A yesss so happy. yeah any MD can write it out for you, definitely say you've been using it and ran out! oh, do you use the cream or the gel, and is there a big difference?? it was kind akward, he was all like " .01 doesn't seem strong enough for your face, im giving you a higher dose" now i feel like i have really bad skin lol

I wasn't being hostile. You were being talking like a child saying your doctor tried to prescribe you something "stupid". Thanks for helping me though! I am going to boost my collagen. Might as well!

I saw this on reddit.com/r/skincareaddiction and thought of y'all: http://www.skinacea.com/retinoids/ty...l#.UnQxtSRjG9G

It's a list of retinoid products, some of them OTC.

^Yay, me too!!!! We will have to let each other know how it works!!!
Oh btw Sammii, I started using just the regular 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment from "Acne.org" because it got really good reviews. As long as I don't sleep in my makeup, I have been good with it. My horrible horrible acne is slowly getting better.

You really can't see yours either. Its practically invisible- esp with makeup. Sex worker acne is like the bottom of the acne ladder, guys lol.

For those that ordered from all day chemist, how long did it take you to receive your order? I'm having a flare and I need to order some meds

FYI, If you use the higher dose and find that it's too irritating/drying, you can always mix in a small amount with your face or eye cream. I have pretty sensitive skin and use it mainly for anti-aging which is different from your purpose, but what I do is mix a tiny amount with almost an equal amount of the cream and apply at night. It works like a charm -- otherwise, I'm red and peeling. Either way, you have to experiment to see what works best for you (every night, every other night, mixed, etc.) because lots of people have issues with Retin-A.

It's just a cream that you put in your skin to treat acne. It's basically just a super concentrated form of vitamin A. But, you need a prescription to get it.
