Default How common is a customer following you outside the club?

I haven't been dancing too too long, but I've surprisingly heard of this a few times. Customers waiting and following you?? Not trying to sound ignorant, but why exactly are they following you? I know I could assume the worst of them trying to rape or kill you, but do you honestly think thats always the case? Of just a seriously delusional customer who thinks you really want him? Ick, either way its sketchy as fuck and I'm curious if anyones had an encounter and/or insight.

I suppose it happens once in a while for everyone that a customer is waiting outside, could be many reasons but I'd say mostly it's bc they think we are really into them just like you say. I never give anyone the opportunity to follow me though since I just get straight into a cab and drive off, if a customer starts following you this is very worrying, they obviously then don't understand the word NO. Their first intention might not be to rape you but who knows, some men take a no very personal, be careful.

its happened to me a few times, they've followed me out to my car, and then i've just told them i have to go home and drive off as quickly as possible. very uncomfortable, but in one club the bouncers don't escort you out ( they just stand by the door), so bring a bouncer and that might deter them.
they just follow you out because they are trying to convince you to go home with them , doubtful they want to rape and kill you but you never know so be careful

I have a safety measure I use every time I drive home: There is a police sub-station in a shopping center right outside the entrance to my neighborhood. I always stop there, parking my car right in front of the windows (I wave at the officer sitting at a desk right in front of me, tee-hee) and call my husband to let him know where I am, and that I should be home in under 5 minutes. *If* anyone has followed me, I'm losing them at the cop shop... I imagine.

IME, it happens most when guys really believe you're going to go home with them. We had a group of them outside the club's backdoor a while back, drunk, screaming for one of the girls notorious for leading guys on to come out and go to their "after-party." All of the managers had to get out there to disperse them and walk the girls to car doors instead of their usual watching from the door half-assed bit. I also had a guy follow me when I refused to dance for him when he was being a total creep. He was driving very aggressively, and I thought he might try to make me wreck my car at one point. I blew through a red light he got held up in another lane at and haven't seen him since. Just be very aware of the parking lot. I always parked as close to the exit doors and parking lot cameras as I could. Also, if you can, back your car in to its spot so you can zip out of the lot asap. Don't linger in the lot to smoke a cigarette or make a call. Watch your mirrors as you leave to determine whether anyone has left after you. If you catch any lights, just glance to see the cars behind you and check again at other turns/lights to see if they're still there. I probably sound paranoid as hell with these tips, but it only takes a little bit of habitual effort to stay aware and safer.

    I had it happen once.

This old guy begged me to meet him. Which I always politely declined. Once day as I'm leaving out the parking lot I see him in his car out my rear view mirror and he trails me for miles before turning another road. Needless to say I was pissed. Like [email protected] dude are you really THAT thirsty?

    After that I told managers.

I never get into or out of my car while customers are in the parking lot.
I make sure they drive off before I get into my car.
I also look into my rearview frequently. Change lanes and make lots of turns if you suspect anyones following you.

It would be nice to have a separate entrance for customers and employees/dancers, and tighter security to lessen things like this from happening.

I had it happen a couple times when I danced in Daytona, b/c I lived only abt 15min from my club. One was a neighbour who saw me leave for work w/ my dance bag every evening & followed me to work, then wouldn't leave me alone & had to get tossed. He lived across the parking lot from me in our apt complex. I got him banned from my club & told my apt ppl (w/o telling them specifically what my work was) that he was following me; they talked to him & he left me alone.

Since I lived so close to work I took a different route home every nite, & told ppl I lived abt 30 min away in a different direction if they asked where I lived. One nite Sm1 followed me almost an hr out of my way -- I didn't know the area(altho I certainly knew how to get home) & had no gps so couldn't look up any nearby police stations, & was afraid he would pull over w/ me if I stopped anywhere else. So I would add to the tips given to always make sure there's gas in your tank, & have an idea where the police stations are, even outside of your immediate area.

Not from an sc, but I used to frequent adult toy stores & been followed from those, (once for about 7 miles). Also on 2 separate occasions in grocery stores (one waited outside, then drove off when I stood outside a few minutes & pretended to talk on my phone, another waited just inside the door fake reading a bulletin board, til I asked a store employee to shoo him off).
So, no matter where you are, it's important to be aware..

^It's usually this-they felt like they had a "real connection" with you and are often just waiting out of curiosity, to ask your number or to invite you home etc. If you get bad vibes from a customer, are worried that they will wait for you or actually see them doing so then alert a bouncer and they will walk you to your car or get you safely into a taxi (don't feel like you are putting them out by asking this either, it's their job).

^True. I have never (to my knowledge) been followed from the club... but a guy I used to work with did *attempt* to follow me from my vanilla job. Even creepier, if you ask me...

It's happened to me a number of times, unfortunately. In my experience, it happens WAY more frequently if the club is in a small town. It's way easier to stalk people in small towns than big cities. Although it has happened to me in big cities, too. I was a traveling dancer for years and one of the clubs I frequented paid for traveling girls to stay at a particular hotel. All the guys at the club new which one and would bother the girls there. I started just paying for my own hotel to avoid the hassle.

Anyway, when I'm driving home, I try to take different routes. If I think someone's following me, I'll pull over into a well lit parking lot at a 7-11 or something and just wait for them to go away. Always be aware of your surroundings. And don't tell anyone at the club you don't really trust, where you live.

I've been followed when I was outside jogging, and I've also been followed home from a bus or train station. I'm trained and always armed and live in a big city with relatively fast law enforcement response. It sucks, but I accept the risk. Can't stay home all day, every day.

Happens pretty much every night. I'm good at making men think I like them. Usually they're just clueless. I politely but firmly explain that I have zero interest in eating/gambling/fucking/whatever, and keep walking. If I feel threatened, I'll flirt with a cop or bouncer or something. being armed helps, too. No big deal, just part of the job.

I guess if somebody followed me all the way home they'd have a 6ft tall rather large viking lookalike , a large dog that resembles a wolf and a house full of weapons to greet them. They'd probably change their mind about whatever it was they wanted, pretty quickly!
I don't *think* I have ever been properly tailed onthe way home, but I could be wrong-I've had a couple of guys pull up alongside me at the traffic lights and wink and such, but I've soon lost them.

I get walked to my car at the end of every night by a bouncer or on occasion, a customer I trust, or I get a lift home from the bouncer.
In summer occasionally I have got the train home which does unnerve me. I say summer because It's getting light by the time I leave the club.
I'm hyper aware when I do that, in case someone recognises me, assumes I'll have a lot of money on me etc...I get a taxi to the station and don't walk into the station itself until proper last minute for the train.Once I'm ON the train I feel safe though. I have a bitchy look on my face the whole time, I think that helps.

I've not got the train home recently but one thing that did help when I did, was there was a guy who was ALWAYS there when I was catching my train, he got on the same one. After a couple of times we exchanged nods/smiles and further down the line I took to having a chat with him and stuff, which helped.
Most people aren't psychopaths , I try to remember that.

I tell every customer that asks, that I live with my folks, and my dad's a cop. Neither is true, but I doubt anyone wants to fuck with that...

When I thought that was happening (not club related - vanilla), I whipped out my phone in an obvious way and started taking pics. He split lol.

I noticed one woman's car had an NRA sticker and a few stickers of obvious shooting ranges. I hadn't heard of them all, but the name and logo said it all. I've wondered about their value as a deterrent. It shows she's already in defensive mode.

Sometimes it's just as simple as they think that you won't do anything about it and want to take advantage of you. Tootsies in MIA has a seperate indoor parking lot for the dancers/staff to avoid that problem. One morning a guy waited until I pulled out of the garage and followed me all the way back to my place. I pulled up where there were cameras and went psycho bitch on him, then reported it. I kept it from the club's knowing because sad to say, they don't want our drama. There's ten bitches waiting to have my spot every night.
