Default Dancing at a club your coworkers frequently visit

I'm sure there are countless threads about this but I work a regular job and I'm going to start dancing just to be able to have extra money. However, the bartender at the club I auditioned at has a crush on one of my coworkers. My coworker has told me frequently goes to the club with other coworkers to get free drinks and has even invited me along! I've talked to my friends about it and they all say I should still dance at the club.

Has something like this happened to anyone else?
    Any advice?

I think it depends on what your regular job is and if it's the kinda job where having everyone know you are a stripper is going to be an issue.... I've had "vanilla" jobs as a bartender/bike repair chick/housekeeper where it really didn't matter that my co-workers knew I stripped. At the bike shop, some if my male co-workers were annoying about it, but thet would have found a way to annoy me even if I didnt strip. Now, if someone found out I was stripping at my current job, that would be an issue. My current job is a more professional enviorment full of really conservative people who would freak out if they new I was a stripper.

^It really depends on whether them fining out that you dance will effect your day job/career. If you believe that it will impact negatively on your vanilla job, then why not try another club in the area instead (just to be on the safe side).

Thanks for responding. My coworkers are really nice and apart of me don't think it would be a big deal if they knew that I stripped. I mean we do live in Sin City lol. I'm not going to go announce it but if they happened to be there then *shrugs* Everyone tells me to not worry about it and to make my money.

I'll keep that idea open as well. That's not the only club in the city but I do want to go where I would make the most money.

Personally, I would be uncomfortable with any of the people I have ever worked with in the "vanilla" world stumbling upon me in the strip club. Maybe when I was working retail/food service it wouldn't be so bad, but jobs where the reference matters? Fuck no. And once one coworker knows, they will all know because office gossip travels fast. Find a different club.

ETA - just noticed that you're in Vegas. If you're looking at one of the huge clubs with hundreds of girls on at a time, I think that's a different story. You can stay off stage and the odds of you seeing them on the floor without being able to hide or get out of the way are pretty slim, so you could probably get away with working there without getting caught.

I was thinking the same thing. It's Vegas and I'm sure plenty of girls here work a "vanilla" job and strip. I will try to be as discreet as possible.

There's no way in hell I'd ever do this. What's to stop coworkers from telling your boss? Or mentioning it on Facebook? Or humiliating you if you have a falling out? Not sure if you plan on dancing long term, but-especially if you're in a small town-having been "that girl who got naked for money" can sway more close-minded, conservative bosses toward hiring a candidate without that history. Maybe I'm just more private, but I don't recommend you even dance in your count, much less mix vanilla work and stripping.

I'm in Vegas. There's Hundreds of girls that "get naked for money". But I completely understand where you're coming from. It can be stressful and messy. They should be kept separate. That's just really hard to do out here. Anyone can be at any club, at any time.

And dude, people from work can become friends, the, sometimes, enemies at some point and knowledge of "moonlighting" is ammunition.

Let's be clear I NEVER said my coworkers were my "friends."

like was said before, if you have a job where stripping would be looked down upon or unacceptable, DON'T do it. people, no matter how good their intentions are, can't keep their mouths shut. they don't even have to be your enemy to fuck you accidentally. you really just can't trust anybody, even good friends much less just co-workers. plus its embarrassing, for me anyways to have people i know see me gyrating naked on stage..at first i thought it wouldn't bother me but it did, and fucked my whole shift up everytime they came in. try and separate personal/vanilla/ and stripping lives as much as you can. but if you don't care, and don't work in a place that would care ( be really sure they don't care) then go for it!
