Default At what point do you decide to give a customer your number??

I mean to say as far as business purposes go.. I'm fairly new and I've heard girls say they won't give out their number to customers unless they spend X amount.. but I'm not sure about that because I've given my number out to a customer who spent $500 on me one night, I got him to come in one more time, he got one dance special, tried to ask me out, I declined, and he never came in again. On the other hand, I've given my number out to a customer who spent maybe $60-$80, then ended up coming in every week thereafter for a few months, which I found more worthwhile. I want to treat my phone number as a valuable commodity, but it's hard to decide which customers to let contact me..

Never. Way too dangerous and annoying if he's a stalker. Also, somebody can find out your full name if he has your number (white pages reverse lookup, it's like 2 bucks). If he wants to know when I'm working he can call the club.

get a google voice , or a crap pre-paid phone which is what i use. if they've given me a lot of money and express a desire to come see me again at the club ( NOT hook up or go on a date). if you are smart about it i see nothing wrong with it, its helped me keep a ton of regulars. to me, its a phone number, not my pussy or anything that i'm "giving away", and it can actually be smart in some situations. the bouncers who answer the phone at my club are not going to tell a caller if i'm working or not, so many new girls they don't even keep track of names out front and they don't care.

I'm verrrrrry fickle with my number. I can count on one hand how many times I've given it out in 3-4 years of dancing. I tried the email thing at first and that was alright but not overly effective. I don't find the phone number to be that useful either, but I have a small handful of regulars who (a) spent a considerable amount on a regular enough basis; (b) asked for it themselves without pushing and, most importantly, (c) I actually didn't mind having my phone number. That last one is really the big one for me. That means my number is not given out to random guys who drop big bucks once. I work a regular schedule though and make sure they know it, so that sort of negates the need to hand out my number.

I'd say never but if you feel you must keep a connection for business purpose, get a non-traceable phone number and let them know your rules.

Like when I did give my regulars my # I told them text only. Im not having long a$$ conversations unless its in person, at the club, with some money attached.

I rarely give it out now bc it's just too much energy to respond on my off time lol...If they seem cool and have spent money a few times I tell call the club to see if Im there.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I'll try google voice from now on.. I don't like the idea of being so easily traced. I think just bc I see sooo many girls I work with texting customers to come in on slow nights I've just kind of thought of it as more commonplace? I guess not...

Its always turned out to be so annoying to me, it never gets me more money, sure you can text them when its slow but I dont work slow shifts so it wont benefit me... Also, they start to get annoyed you only text them when its slow and get all offended, I dont have time for that bs!

I give it out if they have spent at least an hour in VIP AND tipped me. I say something along the lines of I want to see you again and I'm going to put my number in their phone then I text myself from their phone so I know who it is when they contact me. I usually text them that night to thank them for a 'great night'. I may text them in a week or two to get them to come in again cause I miss them SOOOO much. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't had a problem yet but the nice thing about the new Iphone update is you can block numbers with just a click of a button. This helps me cultivate and keep regulars. I would never give my number to anyone who just did dances or didn't spend much on me. Texting back and forth has to be worth the time therefore a nice payout. Just dances won't do it for me.

I have an iphone app that allows me to text and call with a different number, and there is no way he could find out my real infos. After two years I only gave out that number twice and it didn't benefit me at all. I don't even use it anymore and I haven't noticed a loss of income.

When I meet a customer for the first time and he wants a way to contact me, I tell him I do not give out my number to strangers. I always work the same shift, every week. I rarely take time off unless it's really necessary so if they want to see me again, they know where to find me. Plus my best paying regulars have never asked for my number, a couple of them did give me their business card though, I just say thanks. lol I never called them and they still come visit me.

I know girls who think it's useful having the number of their customers and whenever it's slow, they would text them to come, etc. but personally it's not something I like to do.

Customers with my phone number almost always end up irritating the hell out of me, but of someone spends an ungodly amount of money on me and asks for it, usually I'll give them my work email instead as a trial-run for irritation levels.

Would like to also say that Google Voice has worked great for me. I have my app set to not give me any notifications/sounds/buzzes whatsoever so it is up to me to decide when to open the app and see if I have any texts from customers. I give that number out to almost any guy that asks and it has definitely helped me to increase my earnings.

I got a Google Voice number for this reason. If a customer spends $80 or more and asks, then yes I give it out. But I warn them to text only and not to harass me for dates or out of the club gatherings. I let them know that "it" will not happen, but they can have my number to find out if I'm working or when. I also never pull my phone out in front of customers. I always lie and tell them it's in my locker.

I'll give a customer my number if hes consistently spending good $ on me and does VIP's.
I always tell them up front if they EVER send me a text that is sexual, I will block their number immediately.

If they ever text me anything non work related, I usually ignore it unless its one of my really really big spenders.

I personally prefer email, I take theirs, then send them a "thank you for a memorable time, please come see me soon again" email the day after. (Obviously not from my personal email.)

They dont need your number because the only thing you ever need to discuss with them (what night they should come see you next) can be done via email.

I usually tell customers I have a 500 dollar minimum they must spend on me before I give out any contact. But that's toward the young ones who come in looking for a lay who have failed to tip or buy even a cheap dance.

But usually if a guy gets many dances with me (or a CR) and we have good conversation I am willing to give it out. Most men who ask me if I'd be willing to give them contact so they can find out if I'm working or not are the ones who aren't annoying. You just have to judge their character I suppose.
A lot of dancers get prepaid phones (25 dollars per month) and use that as a business phone; seems like a good investment.

    I love the email idea!

I really don't recommend giving your number out but I did give mine to this old man who gave me 600$ just because I told him that was my goal. He didn't get any dances he just kept giving me hundreds and was extremely polite. But now I'm dealing with him trying to hangout OTC and i'm trying to just keep it ITC soo we will see how this turns out.

oh and what's cool with the iphone 5 is that you can block as many numbers as you want.. soo i've been taking advantage of that feature! lol

so if you decide to give your number out and it turns out to be a mistake just touch block and delete the contact

I give my number out if a customer spends a decent amount of money (probably $400+) and seems interested enough to come back. That's how I've accumulated a few big spenders.

For me personally, it's not just a matter of spending a lot of money, but it's other things as well. First one being if my gut tells me the guy isn't a nut job. My instincts are pretty dead on about people, so if a custy is polite, as normal as possible, spends a lot of money, and on some occasions asks for my number while specifying they only want it to know when I'm working so they can come back to see me...then they can have it. Granted - most custys are whack jobs so me giving out my number is far and few between. I'm over 4.5 years of dancing I've given my number out 4 times.

I give my phone number out all the time. Several times a day, in fact. Only a very small percentage of the customers will actually text me ( I don't take voice calls, and am up front about that) on a regular basis. When the club is slow, I send out a blast text to my whole contact list to try and drum up some business. I also try to send out jokes and funny pics on occasion to keep me and my club in their minds. I have one customer who texts me constantly, but he spends about $1k a week on me, and I'm willing to stay in contact with him for that reason alone.

As precautions, my phone isn't in my name, I use a google voice number that is linked to an email account listed as belonging to a man. I don't do OTC. I keep it simple, I use my phone to keep myself busy while I'm in the club. Period.

Never really been worth it for me. Giving a customer your # can turn you from interesting fancy acrobat fantasy lady into some girl from a bar he might call later pretty quickly.

I have a question for those of you who use Google Voice...how exactly does it work? If a guy texts the GV number, it goes to your cell phone right? But then when you text him back can he see your real number in his inbox? Same thing with calling him back?
