Wow I worked at a police academy, worked with ATF, and a Police Department I have always heard the same thing from all of them. What you sent I did not see where it quoted a law but I did not read the whole site. I would NEVER call you stupid I would never insult you in any way. I just said I would not do it. I really do not understand why women have to treat each other that way I do not understand why you would want to. We are here to learn from each other not put each other down in any way. YOu did not quote a law you sent over a web site which can be made by anyone. I have no use for a silencer and not many woman for protection would. Like I said if you feel you are legal and want to go that route go for it. Again I would not.

I am one of those people who should never, ever touch a gun. I can barely operate a toaster without hurting myself. I used to carry mase, but apparently you can't buy that stuff where I live now. So, now I just have a rape whistle.

I can completely respect that Jasmine my husband would say I am the same way with a chain saw or a circular saw I would argue that point with him but let him operate them cuz they scare the crap out of me. LOL I have a friend that I constantly take knives from cuz she does things like lay her thumb in the path of the knife and it is scary. You do bring up a good point and that is what I was trying to get across with talk to your authorities because laws very from state to state, county to county and even city to city.

Dianecallaway, it was me who posted the website about silencers (not AmyLynne). The site is a collection of information with links to actual legal resources. You stated that it is a felony to own a silencer in the United States. That is not true. I'm not trying to attack you, I just wanted to clear up the misinformation about silencers. On that website, you can type in the state you live in and research actual ordinances regarding silencer permits and learn the step-by-step legal processes required to obtain one. They are not legal EVERYWHERE, but they are definitely not felonious.

Even if that WASN'T the case, having a gun in a place where purses get stolen, people are drinking, and people get stoopid is just a BAD combination. And I can't assume I'd land many dances with a gun secured in my garter LOL.

The reason I decided to go with a concealed license is this: assume someone is carjacking you/trying to grab you at a light with an attempt to kill, etc...the chances of being able to A) get in the trunk and B) loading it and C) defending yourself seem IMO slim to none. Although I think (as mentioned earlier) it can provide peace of mind and is great for those of us who stay at hotels or somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Just my .10

I STRONGLY agree with training, training, and more training. I currently shoot around 3x a week at the range, and continue taking classes where one is trained how to shoot walking backwards, in dark situations, etc.

For those of you with guns, which kind(s) do you have?

I carry a Ruger LCR chambered in .38. I also have two .22 rifles, a 20 gauge shotgun, and an M4.

I train minimum once a week and do all kinds of stuff. Tactical, self defense, marksmanship. I have several certifications but I'm not going to share anymore here lest I risk giving away my day job.

    ^NICE !!! You ladies rawk!
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.

Hi I'm new and was just browsing but had to reply to this! I live in the UK so all this sounds crazy to me! We're not even allowed to carry mace which is scary really. I did a photoshoot a few years ago and in some of the glamour pics I took I was posing with a fake 9mm (sexy Bond girl type thing) I posted them on Facebook with the rest of the photoshoot (it was obvious I was posing, I was in a bra and thong!) and a few weeks later I was raided by the police for firearms offences! I just have to make sure my taxi is right outside the door when I leave

My Dad told me if I was someplace where I needed a gun then I didn't belong there.

i have a friend who shot a man who ran her off the road & was threatening her. She warned him, but he kept on approaching. So she shot him & spend 5 years in jail for it & lost her license & job as a successful reality business.

There are very real consequences to shooting another human being so reading all the bragging about guns here & how much safe you are for it makes me cringe.

Trust me, I understand, been ran off the road by men probably 100 times or more. Dealt with my fair share of stalkers & such. But none of them were worth going to jail & being labeled a felon for the rest of my life. There are many ways to avoid these situations, cause if you are truly attacked as if they are going to give you enough lead time to pull that weapon out of your purse or bag AND WE all know how much stuff is stuffed in our purses & have to dig for anything at all.

Best way to prevent trouble is to stay away from it & always be aware of your surroundings.

    Good Luck,
    Sam

Any self defense training that's worth it's salt is going to state the very first rule of self defense: avoid danger. Guns are ALWAYS a last resort.

you can be attacked anywhere, at any time, by anybody and that's just the fucked up world we live in, especially as women. but to go around shooting at ppl who annoy you or you think MIGHT do something is just ridiculous! only to be used on other humans in a life-or-death situation for self defense only! oh and in some states silencers are illegal so diane was kind of right..at first i didn't think they were legal either!

Considering that one of my regulars is a former Federal Judge I would take his advice on legal matters or over anyone elses.

Actually, I DO carry into work. Check it at the door with the manager, keep the key to the trigger lock. He locks it in the office and I re-holster at the end of the night before heading out the front door. I'd rater not leave my gun in the car to be stolen.

Oh, it's a Smith and Wesson SD9VE. My next one is going to be a Bersa Thunder CC. I want the Springfield XDm something fierce though.

I feel sorry for the guys who try to mess with you ladies. Just remember to target practice often. Practice makes almost perfect. A lot of people own guns, but are bad shots. I'm from the gunshine state and was using a number of rifles by 7 years of age. No hunting, promise! I love animals, can't stand creepers.
