    Default Camming under Linux?

So, my computer dual-boots Windows 7 and Linux (Xubuntu at the moment), and, um, Windows makes me cranky. Also I'm planning on building a desktop for this stuff in a few months and I REALLY would prefer to run only Linux on it.
I've had no trouble using Chaturbate on Linux. The Streamate interface loads but won't detect my camera (or rather, thinks it's already in use). I'm researching FFmpeg and/or VLC as possible substitutes for the Adobe encoder- anyone else tried this? I will update with my success or failure

I haven't tried any other sites yet, anyone know what works/doesn't work with Linux?

I am a mac girl and tried using Cocoa split as a replacement for FMLE and I lost my HD icon beside my name and placement tanked. I never did email support (perhaps I should have), but I think they are pretty tied to FMLE and if you aren't using that you lose the HD icon until you start using it again.

I gave it a try out of curiosity last year when my desktop was down. I would not recommend it.

Way less headaches with Windows 7 and way more $ coming in on Streamate with HD icons and better placement on the site.
