Default Working out, what do you do?

Hey ladies, I wanted to know some workout you guys do to keep yourself fit (minus dancing). I'm not a dancer, I just admire the work. Basically what I'm looking for is your regimen and diets. I'm 5'1 1/2 with slim build (low muscle mass); what do you guys eat and what exercises do you do for butt + legs, abs, and arms?

i'm a skinny girl trying to get a bubble butt and get to a toned healthy weight. butt blaster all day long! squats with weights, exercise ball workout where you lean on it with your lower back and slowly bring your pelvis up squeezing your butt.. weights help. resistance exercise where you try and bring your thighs together, etc. and since i had a baby i do ab work outs as well. i try and go every other day, every 3 days but on days when i don't go i like to do home exercises and static exercises for my ass. i try to eat a lot of healthy fats and stay away from corn-based products/GMOs and eat organic as much as i can. i also try and stay away from sugar and processed white grains as they are bad for your skin, never touch soda, and drink a lot of water and green tea.

I'm a really boyish shape but I put weight on easily if I don't watch myself . Unfortunately I put weight on like a man, no butt or boobs just get a beer belly!

I run 3 and a half miles a day minimum five days a week, do upside down sit ups on the pole every other day or every day if I can be arsed, and watch my carb intake during the week. I chill it out a bit at weekends or sometimes still low carb at weekends and have a day off it during the week-if I'm going out for dinner or something.

Eat Paleo 85/15. No sugar, no processed foods, no sodas. I work out 4-5x a week about 90 mins. 30-45 mins of cardio, then weights. I also do abs as of late because quite frankly my midsection looks like shit.

I take yoga and ballet classes. Groupon, Living Social, and Google Offers are very helpful because I save money and try new gyms/classes/stuff.

I TRY to eat healthier foodz... but I have a weakness for cheese late at night. Eating salads when it cold is very difficult so I roast up lots of vegetables and I even make kale chips in the microwave. When I wake up, I gorge on fruit. I eat maybe a power bar or vegetable wrap at work if I am very hungry. Otherwise I have an apple or berries when I take a break. Fruit leather is awesome too. On my off days, I make shrimp and fish... if I am very busy I may buy a rotisserie chicken and eat it with my roasty vegetables or as part of a wrap with arugula and cheese.... mmmmmm... cheese.

^I, too, have a cheese thing. Like, a person probably shouldn't have these kinds of feelings for cheese...
So, it's a really good thing that I don't care for sweets or sodas, 'cause I'd surely be a big lumpy thing, if that were the case.

I grew up in Southeast Texas, so I simply must have Tex-Mex pretty regularly, or I get all aggro and shit. And no, a fucking grilled fish taco on a gluten-free whatever with cabbage and shit on it will NOT suffice.

I eat more of that kind of stuff than I ought to, so to offset the negative effects the best I can, I try to cram some raw fruit & veggies before I sit down to indulge my damned enchilada lust. Afterward, I will fast for a bit (most of the next day, say) figuring that my body has plenty of fat stores to burn for energy.

All that said... I eat reasonably most of the time... 1200-1500 calories a day, lots of lean proteins, whole grains, veggies, water, black coffee.

I work out just about every day, at least 30 (ideally 45) minutes at a time, and then additionally, I sneak in little mini-workouts throughout the day (100 leg lifts here and there, bust out 100 jumping jacks, a 15-minute walk, etc.) I'll bust out as many squats as I can, whenever I have a moment & no one is looking.

I get up at 4:30am weekdays and work out, before getting ready for my 8-5 job. Those workouts vary based on my mood, what I think needs the most work, or what needs a rest because I can barely move it, because I worked it too hard the day before.

This crazy lady bosses me around, in some weird Martian accent, about 3 days a week:

These kids are adorable, their workout selection is unbelievable (whatcha want? they've got it) and there is no stupid music or retarded commentary. I kinda love them:

Other than that, I do wall-sits while watching tv at night, and leg lifts, and Russian twists. If I just ate something, I always move around a bit afterward. I feel like that's gotta help.

I'm 5'2", 120 lbs -- I've gained about 15 lbs of muscle in the past year and have achieved a nice shapely figure; last year around this time I was pretty depressed with little muscle mass, also I had known little to nothing about good nutrition my entire life -- I'm still in the learning process but as far as strength + aesthetic goals are concerned, I'm very happy with my progress esp. considering the inconsistent schedule + drinking habits that come w the dancer life

I usually start my workout off with 5-10 min of light cardio on either the elliptical or treadmill, just to warm up. I workout 6 days a week (it takes time to develop the habit of going every day, in the first 2-4 months I was more 3-5 days) and target a different muscle group every day, but workout legs/butt the most. So the rotation goes somewhat like leg day, arm/shoulders day, back day, HIIT day (high intensity interval training), core day, and back around -- I try to include core workouts every day though, even if it's just a couple small sets.

For any day, I choose 4-5 different workouts beforehand, then do 3-4 sets of each to failure. This is just an example of a leg day that you can start out with @ ur build:

    5-10 min light cardio

    1. SQUATS -- warm up with 1 set of 10 reps @ a weight that you're comfortable with going all the way down into a deep squat, feet shoulder width apart (wrap a towel around the bar, and rest it across ur trapezius). Get into a nice rhythm with that 10. Rest 1 minute. Do another set, but if it's not challenging enough, increase the weight by 10 lbs each time. Squatting is the BEST workout you can do to grow ur booty, and it's a gradual process, but so gratifying once you start seeing results. I like to squat to failure -- meaning by the end of my last set I can barely replace the bar back to where I picked it up. Within 8 months I went from squatting 45 lbs to now 165.

    2. DEADLIFTS -- it's tough to describe how to properly do a dead lift, but I suggest you either youtube it or ask someone @ the gym how to. 4 sets of 12 -- increased weight each time -- to failure

    3. LUNGES -- weighted or not, go across the length of a room 4-5x, resting 30 sec-1 min between each set

    4. ABDUCTOR + ADDUCTOR machine -- 4 sets of 10, increased weight by the last set (usually these machines are next to each other, and if you can, switch them between each set)

Then end with a simple core workout like kick downs (google it) -- 4 sets of 10, or more if you can push yourself.

-- I highly recommend downloading a workout app like Nike Training Club just to familiarize yourself with basic exercises that you can incorporate into your routine. Cut out saturated fats, fried foods, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, pretty much all sugars, and remember to drink a protein shake within half an hour after every workout (don't worry, it will NOT bulk you up, but ur body's depleted of glycogen and ur muscles repair themselves better post-workout -- muscle burns FAT). There's a shit ton of information to know, but with patience and consistency, health conscious decisions about food and creating workouts for yourself will become easier and second nature -- it only takes 12 WEEKS of consistent exercise for you to start seeing results, and once you start, it'll become much easier to maintain.
Unsophisticated in the finest sense of the word.
