Do you mean dancers or cam girls? Or other ladies in the industry? As a dancer, not at all. I tried it for a bit and it didn't seem worthwhile, but it might be more beneficial in a different area.
As a camgirl, I wondered this same question.
Same as shanna.
Anyone really... I figure the bulk of you here are either dancers or cam girls or both. Not sure how many fans post here... I work directly in marketing with cam companies and businesses that work directly with clubs. I personally run 6 twitter accounts and 3 of them are really important for my biz.

Marketing on twitter has increased my camming income in the same amount of time by 3 times.
It does work. Facebook did NOT convert for me at all. Seem to be a bunch of insulting middle eastern guys demanding sex & skype shows.

Thanks for your input... and I'm not surprised by your results.

I worked in marketing for years, and I will say that without a doubt Twitter is your biggest asset. It's free, and the time investment is relatively small. A good site to use with it it Twuffer.com. It will give you some very valuable real-time stats that can be used in any number of ways. I used this for work on a daily basis, and just started using it again when I started camming last month.
The most important concept here is what we call personal brand equity. We all have our favorite sites, but things change over the course of time, and down the line we may choose to leave certain sites. But do we really want to leave hundreds of paying customers, possibly the bulk majority of our fanbase behind when we decide to leave/switch sites? No, we want people to search our name on ALL of the cam sites they visit. Sites that allow Twitter promotion, take full advantage of it. Think of your Twitter and personal websites as your Camming HQ, and direct people there accordingly. So when you need a sick day, switch sites, or branch out into videos, your core base can be informed quickly and easily. I would also advise cammers to make their username identical or similar on all sites they work on, unless they are doing a "test" account, have multiple personas, a separate fetish account, etc.
I hope this was of some help! If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to post here, or ask me on Twitter. Happy tweeting!![]()

Come say hi on Twitter!

I have nothing else to add..other than I'm still surprised that after all this time people are still questioning it's legitimacy? I've been using it since 2009. I couldn't be happier.
I thought about twitter for staying connected to regulars but have yet to use it aside from personal use.
Maybe soon ill set up a profile for my dancer persona.

I cannot understand why people need to 'follow' anyone for any reason at all--but that's just the way I am--and everything I've seen of Twitter kind of turns me off so far. It just seems like people feeding each others' vanities.
BUT it does seem to work for a lot of people. Money Talks...
Could be I am getting a seriously distorted view of it, from seeing what inane shit celebrities Tweet in the news, and seeing some of these people putting the idiotic little hashtag things at the end of posts on Facebook, etc.
Obviously Jay, from what I've seen of you, you are neither an idiot nor particularly vain. So more power to you (and the others here posting about their success).

Ha... thanks Djoser. I have some vanity issues and enjoy throwing the odd idiotic comment out there from time to time, but when it comes to getting serious, I'm a definite contender.
I like to keep things humorous and light for the most part and then when I have a sales pitch or need to vent or come down on someone or something really hard, it has just THAT much more punch to it.
The constant noise on twitter is deafening... a lot of people need to understand that "less is more" sometimes.
I will only follow people if they interest me, amuse me, or can affect my bottom line. Nothing worse than a timeline full of retweets and annoying shit. Gotta make it USEFUL.

If it is working for you, that makes me want to try it.
I am about to revamp this website I have--might be a good time to take the plunge!

Good luck man... getting a lot of quality followers is tricky and takes time. But it's just good to have a twitter presence in general. Lemme know if you need any pointers.
