I just wanted to share this product, John Frida "Go Blonder" controlled lightening spray. It has gradually dyed my black regrowth light brown-ish, so it's MUCH less noticeable and it's helped me to dye my damaged hair less often. It is heat activated though, so if you are avoiding heat treating your hair, then it's probably not the best choice. http://www.johnfrieda.com.au/Product...ghtening-Spray

. I was using it a few times a week, along with other products. Like I said, it depends on how damaged your hair is-so don't worry

). It's frizzy and dry too. I know what you mean about the shampoo not mattering, but if you haven't already, try the Kevin Murphy range (born again treatments and the young again rises are GREAT. And the blonde angel purple shampoo is gentle and good for a colour refresh. Avoid the purple treatment though, if your hair is that damaged). Also, mix a bit of Moroccan argan oil (about the size of a coin) with your conditioner in your palm. This helps. Having a good shine spray makes a difference too (I like the Kevin Murphy one and the Delerenzo one)Having damaged hair is devastating...but we have to rock it!
It took about 3 years to grow it back to waist (and slightly below) length, and now I'm deathly afraid of that stuff. Maybe plain lemon juice is better, but I'm not taking any more chances. A product that I recommend is an oil free non spray shine serum like at Sally's. It makes hair mirror-shiny, and protects from damage. I also never use heat styling appliances which can dry hair. Biotin is great too.
