Default Eczema is ruining my life(((

I moved to another city this month and now I'm having a worst outbreak of stress-caused atopic eczema. It's so bad I have to wear sunglasses not to freak people out, and I've lost like 1/3 my hair over 3 weeks. The medication I'm taking only helps to curb it a bit so the rush doesn't turn into sores, but I still look like shit and it isn't getting any better - and can't even be masked in any other way than wearing sunglasses and a long-sleeved shirt. My husband hasn't found a job yet, so I'm the only breadwinner so far, and it's been impossible for me to cam for like 2 weeks. I have no idea when we start getting money again, there's noone we can expect help from, and the stress it causes me is feeding my condition. I'm afraid it's the end of my camming, and the majority of other jobs I could apply for wouldn't even pay our rent. I really don't know what to do about it.

I know it's expensive, but have you seen a naturopath (it would naturally help with the cause and the symptoms)? Getting the cause under control will help A LOT, whether it's being caused by a new laundry powder or stress. If it is stress induced, then seeing a therapist might help also.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! Skin issues SUCK, it's so hard to pinpoint the exact causes. I had 4 months where I was constantly itchy and was scratching so hard that my whole body was covered in scabs and little fluid pockets. It was super embarrassing. I totally feel your pain

Do you have any savings where you can step back from camming for a week or so? Could you maybe do Clips4Sale and film some clothed fetish videos? You could definitely light things so the eczema isn't terribly obvious. It won't be a TON of money but it's better than nothing and probably less stressful than camming close up.
Also, sounds silly, but take the mirrors down - I think looking at yourself when you're all scratched up is only going to make you stress more.

I'm not sure if I have eczema or not since I don't go to doctors but I get little liquid bumps that itch real bad. I'll just start drinking more water and since I noticed that I haven't been drinking that much water. I also use Curel Ultra Healing lotion. Or you can try an oatmeal paste. Just google them. I just ground up some oats in a grinder and added some water and rub it all over me. But you can add different types of oils to help also.

Thank you, everyone))). They prescribed me a steroid cream, too - but the bad thing about it is that it may have really unpleasant side effects if used by longer than a month, and I've been using it for that long. Can't say there is no effect, but the scabs haven't gone. Another thing is that I can't use the cream on the head where eczema's really bad; I ordered a medicated shampoo, but it has to be shipped yet. I also started taking valeriana and it seems to help some. I even cammed this week wearing stockings all the time, and the guys didn't seem to notice anything. Got to try a stronger herbal sedative or, if it doesn't help, apply for another course of neuroleptics.

Eczema usually has to be healed from the inside out. Use a cortisone cream and Scalpicin for the outside to relieve the itch and irritation. Take pycnogenol ( at least 100 mg. ) and 1000 unit capsules of Vitamin E daily. Many cases of eczema are caused by lipid peroxides which are byproducts of stress. Try to decompress with meditation or other relaxation techniques and take the E and pycnogenol ( powerful anti-oxidants ) to absorb the lipid peroxides.

You could try seeing an allergist who does cyto-toxic testing. They take a little bit of blood and then put drops of your blood into a box with multiple compartments. Each compartment has a different allergen. Then they look at the results under a microscope to see how your immune cells reacted. Better and more accurate than scratch testing.

    Good luck.

i am sooo sorry!!! i know its probably very embarrassing, but u should totally do some fetish clips on c4s, im sure theres some category that would fall under, ntm u could do the feet stuff if u wanted, prolly other stuff too. Clips take a lot of camming pressure off when u kno u have that check coming around the 4th of every month (payoneer actually but u get the point)

Hugs lexie, keep your head up, this will not be the end of ur camming career!

Are you sure that this is atopic dermatitis? Judging from the information you've provided (which, granted, is incomplete), there are several things that don't really fit the picture. It's an important question because if it's not AD, then topical steroids could potentially make things worse in the long run.

Sort of. Enbrel and Humira both work by inhibiting one of the signaling molecules (TNF-alpha) that plays an important role in the inflammatory process. In that sense, they really don't get at the cause of autoimmune disorders any more than corticosteroids, although they are more selective about what they suppress. Suppressing inflammation is a great thing for autoimmune disorders, of course, but inflammation also plays an important role in the immune response to infections. When taking something like Enbrel, you have to be very careful about things that increase your risk of infection, such as surgery. They are definitely safer for long-term use than corticosteroids, but that is damning with faint praise. As with any medication, you have to balance the risks versus the benefits (which can be considerable, if you have severe psoriasis).

I have the same kind that when stressed it gets red and lumpy and itchy but I only get it on my fingers and knees. My doctor always prescribe me a steroid cream and it's usually gone within days. It's the one in the yellow tube. That's what you need to use in order to quickly get rid of it in a timely manner. I haven't had a flare up since earlier this year but I've dealt with it since I was a kid. I try to not get overly stressed and do things to help me keep my mind off stressful topics.

OP - some simple suggestions. 1. i have rosecea so i kinda feel the pain. 2 my ex had a really bad scaly skin disorder.
    a. try putting some coconut oil, or aloe vera on your affected areas. b. vick's in the blue jar ive heard works too. as far as covering it, i use a regular stick concealer, with light coating of vaseline and powder bronzer or mineral makeup. As far as your hair, want to try a bright red or blue bandana, rockabilly style? Also, Sallys sells cheap 10 dollar synthetic weave packs you could make some temporary clip ins for thickness and length. I hope this helps. Lastly, I know this is way out there but since taking epsom salt baths, quit smoking and doing regular enemas, my skin has improved a LOT. and i used to easily get a beet red face from a beer or a strong cold wind, whereas now, i dont expose my self to alcohol or strong sun/wind.

Coconut oil won't help her and she has something totally different than what your boyfriend has. She's not suffering from dry or scaly skin. The only thing that will help her is a steroid cream.

Whatever you can do to alleviate the stress, try to do it. I know it's hardest of all when the stress is already there, especially if the stress then makes you sick somehow (usually illness is at least partially stress-related), which adds yet more stress and difficulty in Life.

I had mild eczema a couple times as a kid. Then twice as an adult I had trouble with mysterious itching skin on my shoulders and arms--no appearance problem thankfully, but the itching was fucking intense. Both times it was due to pretty severe stress due to my living situation at the time.

So sorry this is causing you such trouble!

Yep that's true. For me it only flares up during high stress. It hurts and itches like hell though because mine gets lumpy and is seen on my joint areas. The terrible thing is once it's gone, the skin peels and sometimes leaves my fingers and toes with dark areas. But eventually it goes away when I use oils and things to lighten it. But the steroid cream is the only thing that gets rid of this type of excema.

Some more feedback: shampoo with zinc pyrithione helped a lot. The irritation was gone after 2 uses, and now that I've been using it for a week my hair doesn't shed anymore. Totally recommended.

Speaking of the triggering factors: caffeine (like coffee or especially energy drinks) can make it worse, too.

This probably sounds like the most random load of horsecrap, but I've read that patchouli oil can be "used" for eczema.

I don't know what exactly is meant by the word "used" though(maybe its just soothing or something?) But I thought it would be worth a mention!

I haven't read all the replies here, so apologies if this is a repeat, but I get really bad eczema outbreaks from time to time. Just had one a few weeks ago, and heard that UV light is supposed to help. I started indoor tanning for just short periods of time a few times a week and it's helped tremendously. I'm still a little itchy if I go several hours without moisturizing lotion, but it's not the horrible red, bumpy rash it used to be.
