Public sector jobs are never a good idea in terms of 'outing'.. Think law, education, government, those sorts of things can be a little messy if someone is 'outed' doing one of those jobs.
Not too sure on the 'what jobs would be fine' side of things though! Anything self-employed of course. Lots of jobs would be pretty cool with it though i should imagine. Things where the employer themselves has to be non-judgemental, think.. addiction support/counselling, sexual health worker, that sort of thing?

hair dresser? nail artist? bar tender? laid back jobs where they don't all have pristine sticks up their asses, or self employed. really, the latter is the only job where you have 100% security of not being outted
What area you're working in also plays a factor. While a hairdresser getting outed in NYC or LA may not be a big deal, a hairdresser getting outed in a small town in the bible belt sure will be!

^ true. and even if you were self-employed in the bible belt, if ppl found out they would boycott you. so there is no 100% security of not being outted

And in the bible belt you're more likely to be identified by a member of the public because according to a Harvard study, they watch the most porn!
I think employers would be concerned about whether customers would recognise you, so any job that involves face-to-face dealings with the public may be an issue.

Software engineer. Unless you work for the government. But most likely you would be wanting to work for either a start up (of your own) or say some mobile platform company (because that's where all the cool kids are at). I find people who are in the software field are very liberal, hipster and open to porn in general. However you are VERY likely to get outed by some nerd saying "I think I saw you on XXX site" as these people are very computer/tech/internet savvy and most likely watch lots of porn online to begin with.
Back when I was in university I had a very "cool dude" prof for one of my computer science classes. He drove a very nice sports car (one of those 100K+ luxury cars), dressed in slacks and a T, wore hipster glasses. He taught courses on data structures and algorithm design, java, software development for AI, etc. He was very hot and not your typical computer nerd. About 2 yrs ago I was having a slow night on cam when someone popped in my room and immediately went exclusive. For about 40 mins he played it cool, but threw in "I think I know you" and "you have a very memorable face" and "I am pretty sure you were in one of the classes I taught" every so often. I know guys always say shit like that because it turns them on (even though they really don't know you). Finally I asked "do you have a cam?" and he turned it on....I was mortified! It was my prof!

A couple of people I work with at the bar (I bartend) know I'm a camgirl. Its a laid back place, I'm guessing a nicer one might care more?
Even when I become self-employed in my vanilla work, I don't want to advertise I'm a camgirl/was a camgirl (but that's just me overthinking it!)

Well, any job where you have a boss (aka where you aren't self-employed) could lead to you getting fired if you are outed. Even if your boss is okay with it (which most won't be- lets be honest here), if another employee complains about it and says they are uncomfortable (which a catty person could do), you would be fired.
So only self-employment is safe.

Is being outed really that common. This is not something I dony worry about at all. I am an esthetician, and unlike most hair stylist jobs, working in a spa setting is not laid back at all so if someone found out i probably wouldnt be in the best situation. But really, how likely is this to happen? I honestly dont see it happening, unless a person has been to every adult site on the web lol

They pray they don't get outed? You have a 50/50 chance of someone discovering your work in the future.
Pretty likely. I've seen over a dozen girls on here talk about getting outted. How many men do you know? Well all of those men watch porn. Are you on a big budget site (Streamate, MyFreeCams, etc.)? Because your show will likely end up in a pop-up or on tube sites without your knowledge and someone you know will likely see it someday and show it to someone else you know.

The 2 cents I'm going to add regarding being outed in vanilla jobs is this. My mom danced throughout the 90s and late 80s back when they were on a payroll. Then she graduated from her university w/honors and was offered jobs right away from medical companies as a pharmaceutical rep. She was a pharm rep for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the state and was among their state leader in sales. She later became a mortgage officer when the economy was still good. She's had lots of good jobs.
My lawyer says there were women in his law school class who were strippers who went on to get jobs in their legal fields. Some companies may discriminate but if a company did I'd see if I could sue them.
Plus, if your boss is a man you may not have anything to worry about. C'mon we're strippers, plenty of white-collar businessmen just love us![]()

I was on flirt4free for about a year on and off so like, 6 months approx.....

I was 18 and dumb when I started... I guess that'd be my only excuse if I was ever outed. The old cliche. Stupid college freshman.

I manage a restaurant/coffee shop/tourist stop and shop, and I cam.
Honestly, I couldn't imagine anyone saying anything about it even if they knew. My work place is all hussle and bussle, very little gossip time for workers. So it would have to be some sort of special timing for it to reach my ear. And, if I may, I don't care if people know if they never say anything. Whenever a customer at the shop says I look familiar I just tell them I grew up around here so if they've been here before we've probably met. That's probably more the reality than my fantasy of being noticed for camming, anyways.
It helps to have the vanilla job too. I've only had to explain camming to one person before, and I simply said I like it, it's a hobby, and it helps me pay bills.
I'm an adult, I'm allowed to talk to strangers online and take their money if I want to
I actually was going to get a job at the sex toy shop in town, thinking they obviously wouldn't care. But, more deep in thought, I realized that I would be probably out myself way to easily!

I'm on SM and MFC... I am obviously not a super popular or famous model so I would be surprised to see myself on any of those type of things. My husband already knows and fully supports it. His family is really religious and live in Israel so The odds if them seeing anything are slim to none. Plus I take pride in this job. It beats the last few I have had.
