Cell Phone How to become a feature entertainer?

I talked to a feature entertainer who came into one of my clubs and she introduced me to the idea of becoming a feature entertainer myself after some training. Does anyone know any information about how to gain exposure and start looking into agents? Pole dancing (or other) competitions to consider? Any info is appreciated!

Generally speaking, being financially successful as a 'feature entertainer' requires that you achieve some sort of 'credentials' that clubowner can easily publicize. This can span the entire range from media credentials ( Playboy mag appearance, XXX box covers ), to awards ( miss nude ___ , AVN ), to physical attributes ( 6' 2" tall showgirl, cup size in second half of the alphabet ).

As discussed in previous threads, as the US economy, or at least the 'strip club' segment of the US economy, continues to languish, the fees paid by clubs to 'feature entertainers' are no longer what they once were. As such, gone are the days where a feature could afford to fly to the cities where she was booked, stay in a nice hotel, etc. and still turn a profit based on the feature fee plus club customer earnings. Well, I need to qualify that last statement ... to money earned from customers INSIDE the club ! If you plan on 'just' working as a feature performer, turning a net profit these days ( as compared to the readily available earnings as a house dancer in a local club involving minimal expenses ) probably means a lot of driving, a lot of cheap motels, etc.

I suppose it's no secret that some of today's features earn the majority of their money via escorting. Or to be more specific, some of today's features use their club feature appearance as a means of writing off their travel and accommodation expenses to go to a particular city ... but in fact earn the majority of their money via 'private sessions' with fans outside the club that are scheduled between club feature performances. If you're comfortable with that business model, there is obviously major money to be made.

i worked with a few feature girls..one was incredible on the pole and an army girl and the other was a CRAZY contortionist as well as proficient in polework. but even they didn't make any more than regular strippers i don't think..unless you are jenna jameson or some other porn house-hold name i don't think its worth it

Today you need to fuck several celebrities, hopefully all at once. Have it secretly leaked onto the web, make a deal with Vivid. Have tmz do several stories on you then presto you get an agent who can book you for feature dancing. OR get on reality tv show, be a drunken mess. Then instead of feature dancing you can host parties at regular clubs like Snookie does & pull in $5 million a year.

    Easy

    LOL

    Good Luck,
    Sam

It's been awhile, but I did a little bit of feature dancing mixed in with just regular circuit dancing. I made up most of my credentials. I didn't do feature shows at top tier clubs... Just nice clubs, usually in cities in really random, Midwestern states. I had a website. When I first started, it listed my previous tour which was a list of clubs I had never done feature shows at. Some of them were clubs I'd never been to. Strip club managers are usually not the best fact checkers. I had an agent for a little while, but he sent me to some really awful places, so I dropped him pretty quickly. I didn't make much more money as a feature than I did as a house or traveling dancer. But it was fun, gave me an opportunity to check out new places and the clubs generally paid for some traveling expenses. I think having a good website and a unique set were the only things that helped me get booked as a feature. But I didn't have great success with this, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me!

I've participated in a fair amount of pole dancing competitions. I know there are lots of examples of pole divas that do feature dancing. But, it my experience most people who are hard core competitive polers are stripper haters and do as much as they can to distance themselves from the strip club world. I've done competitions were I had to sign papers that say I may not use the name of the competition for "adult industry" related work. I wasn't even allowed to compete under my stripper name at several competitions! Competing is fun and may bolster your skills for feature dancing, but I don't think it will probably directly lead to opportunities for feature dancing... I could be wrong though--I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to feature dancing anymore. My experiences could have been a regional thing, as well. I'm in the northeast now and the competitive polers here seem slightly more tolerant of strippers. Slightly.

One of my good friends is currently a feature dancer and is making really good money. But she is way more legit than I ever was. She made a bunch of porn, was nominated for a few AVN's... I think porn is probably the best way to become a feature. She'd only released 10 or so movies/scenes/whatever before she started getting booked as a feature. Her porno agent helps her with her bookings. I don't know how, but she is one of those rare porno newbies who actually gets a small cut of the DVDs and stuff she sells. So, a lot of her cash comes from selling signed merchandise at the clubs she features at. But it's almost like a 24 hour a day job, for her. She is CONSTANTLY promoting herself on cam, twitter, interviews, new porn content... She has this weird pseudo phone sex line that she is on constantly... She is making good money, but considering all the time she spends working, I don't think it's as good as she thinks it is. But whatever. She's seems to be enjoying her work!

    Hahaha Thanks Sam38g XD

I was told by Lacey Rain if you win pole dancing competitions you could get recognized by agents. She said not to embarrass myself if I couldn't compete with someone like Felix Cane though. Suzie Malone was also a feature at my club who does magic while dancing burlesque. It would be something wayy into the future that I'm starting to train for now. Hopefully someone here could eventually mention some agencies or know someone else who got into it (without screwing their way to the top)!

Do you have a set put together? Make sure it's perfected and original. If your ready to get out there, you could try what I did. Just put together a nice website and start contacting clubs to see if they can use you. It's probably easier to start a places nearby. Keep the website updated with all of your appearances and try to develop a fan base. I think you are far more likely to find an agent after you've established yourself somewhat and have some kind of following.

Thanks for the feedback girls! Yeah Lacey was a super sweet girl and eager to help. I don't want to get into porn to be a feature.. I've done stage and pole performances in the local bdsm and ebm scene, but that's about it. I would need to do suspension or something alternative. My numbers need a lot of work to be perfected and feature ready. Thank you Jasmine.Doll for the info! I'll have to come up with something creative ad hire-able then get a website going..
