Default How does the beginning usually go?

I'm finally going in to get my licence today and later tonight I'm going in to talk to the owner of the club I want to work at. Last time I was there I asked the shooter girl how I could get a job and she sent me over to talk to the owner who said I had to get my licence first and come back. So, I replaced all my lost ID and am going in to finally do it.. And now I'm getting nervous! I felt prepared up until now and I have some questions that hopefully someone can answer.

How does it go when you first start? Say tonight I go in and talk to the owner again, obviously there's no "interview" but will she talk to me like give me a rundown of how it works (house fees, how stage dances go, rules of the VIP, etc.) or is that left to me to figure out? As in, is there an office talk? I don't think the club I'm looking at has the three-song set rule because the couple times I've been they switch girls every song; they just come on, do a bit of pole/floor work and leave, but she'll tell me, right?

Are auditions normally scheduled for the same night? Is she going to say "go change and get on stage"? Or is it usually arranged for a different night if she likes the look of me?

Haha these might all seem like dumb obvious questions but I never thought about the specifics of starting and I realize I don't know that much.

I never thought I'd be so nervous! I'm reading all I can about auditions and new dancers just for some reassurance. I know it will be one of those situations where you're crazy nervous before and once it's over you're like "what was I so nervous for?" But it's nice to hear from people. Thanks in advance ladies!

If you go back to the Newbie Board (the section where you posted this thread), you'll find several threads stickied at the top of the forum. Read 'Newbie FAQ! Your Question is Probably Here!' and 'NEWBIES: Read Me First! I mean it!' because both of those threads will tell you absolutely everything you could possibly need to know about getting started as a dancer.

There is no standard hiring/audition process throughout all clubs, so just go in with your gear ready to audition and follow what the manager tells you. I promise you they will not expect you to lead the audition or know how things work at their club.

    Good luck!

Thanks you two, yeah I've read them but I probably should again its been a while. I think I just need to get it off my chest, and I probably have unrealistic expectations of what they'll want me to do. I am woman and I am strong, I can do this! Ha. Thanks again.

If they have unrealistic ideas of what you should do, get out of there! Sometimes that is a reality but you NEVER have to do something you're uncomfortable with. My first time auditioning was at a nude club, told the manager it was my first time ever auditioning, so he took me in his office and told me to give him a dance there (NOT standard, to my ignorance) then asked if he gave me $75 would I give him a bj. I said no and left. The next club I auditioned at, and did get hired, was the typical, get on stage and take your top off. Signed the paperwork and got to work. It should be as simple as that. As for the heebie jeebies, take deep breaths and wipe the sweat off your hands before you hit the stage. Don't try and booty pop if you're not seasoned in it already. Just move slow and sexy. You got it!
