"brbxoxo searches online sexcam sites and only broadcasts feeds when the performers are absent."
Well....I hope these women know their feeds are on this website even if they are not sitting at the computer. I don't see the point in this at all.
It's just like "camgirl brb" on tumblr... Empty cam rooms... it's entertaining to some people I guess..

Creepy and annoying. At least credit the women in the clips.
Right? If their names appeared in the bottom right or something it might be worth it for them, but this is still capping and I'm wondering if any of them know they are in the video.

I think you totally misunderstand the "art" aspect to that website. It's beautiful. Anonymous. It takes a peek into the lives of people who are there, but not there. It might be a little invasive, but if you're on the internet, you're free game. They are making a statement, not exploiting anyone. It's about evoking a feeling from an audience, and it does it very well. Art is art, it exists to create an emotional reaction.

I get the "art" aspect to the video, but that kind of art bothers me, though of course art is entirely subjective, which is why there continue to be heated debates about what is an isn't art. I see it as lazy, easy, and spiritless. You can slap the term "art" on a pile of crap and sell it for $200. It creates no emotional response in me other than concern for the models being credited.
We already face exploitation from clients screencapping, guys uploading to tube sites, attempting to sell our stuff on, the last thing I want is for the "art" people to get their fill from us by using us in much the same way, but because it's "art", that makes it acceptable? No. As far as I'm concerned, if they aren't crediting the models, that's the definition of exploitation, and it's just as damn irritating as any other time we're screencapped and uploaded somewhere and not credited.
It's not art. It's some weirdo that is calling it "art" and all he is doing is looking at different girls' webcam feeds and posting them on different websites without their knowledge. It looks stupid.
dur dah dur, look what I did guys, I post girls' cam feeds and all you do is stare at the back of their chair, I'm soooo artistic.
with the first project it's cool how a seemingly static empty room changes into an interactive experience once the chica arrives, but I gotta agree with this:
He's using real people (and their work) as uncredited subjects. That is exploitative.
as to the second project, it's fake. Check out the page source for brbxoxo.com, it's just a series of gifs.

Coolest camroom ever!
I think it is a work of art if you can remove yourself from the connection of being those cam girls who got nothing in return. "Overly exposed, and under compensated" is not something you will hear any cam model speaking fondly about. So yes, each girl should have received credit for their image. But, if we remove the dollar, and focus on the girls (The main point)... wow! Every single one of those performers were beautiful!! Look at camming as an art, just as you would burlesque, or an erotic novel. When you think about the reality of what we do to make money, or perform... It's very beautiful. I can't help but think how amazing it is that these girls, these "artists" have embraced their bodies and personalities enough to run their own shows. And for a glimpse we see some boss bitches gathering their thoughts, before they get back on their grind.
I focus only on the fact that this guy definitley did not ask to use their likeness in a publically avaliable film. Nor did he even think about how showing the world tits he recorded could affect that person. IF he had made it a project where he requested permission: whole other story. The lack of respect pisses me off. I'm an artist cos I can steal other peoples likeness and make an 8 min film about it la de da.
Dick.
Wow, in my honest opinion I think its the lamest "art" i've ever seen. Its like the idiots were jackin' their shit one day and was like "oh god these camgirls and dude are so beautiful and deeep I should make art of them - oh god yes, just blew my load because i'll be such a great artist!" <- I imagine it was this word for word.
there was a girl I knew on tumblr who created a blog that was supposed to showcase the girl's rooms, but also included the models in the photos a lot of the time. I chewed her ass out for it, I think it's kind of disrespectful honestly. maybe the girls don't want the extra exposure! or they want credit!
I'm an artist and a photographer- I get it, it's an interesting peek into a woman's life. But I think it's really annoying because I feel like this kind of art makes us seems like the "other" or even mystifies us for being sex workers online. And if pisses me off cause I always feel like I have to make sure they didn't use me for their projects without my permission!!wasting my damn time!
^^^ I definitely don't disagree with the above feelings at all. Those were my views as well. It's not right to take from these girls, or expose them without permission. I didn't double check to find out if the "artist" asked for permission. Nor do I know what his point really was... I just wanted to make an optimistic observation about how beautiful these girls are/were, and what I felt when watching the video. I am not excusing anyone from taking a models images etc. I'd prefer to give the performers the credit was more of my point, more of a "smile in the face of adversity" type thing.

I might be sort of out of topic, but once there's art showcasing camming rooms, why can't we speak of camming as art done by camgirls (and maybe do some, like a flashmob by models who work on the same site, or something)? Quite a while ago, someone on here mentioned having a doll tea party on cam, and IMO that was pretty much an art performance.
That's actually a REALLY good idea. But, we aren't talking girl girl shows right? Or just an artsy spin on it? A tea party considered art?? Hmmm? I was on CB last night... and saw a group of girls just dancing around topless. It looked more like the peanuts gang Christmas pageant, but I got what they were trying to aim for.
It would be cool to do a body paint cam show...."I'll paint your name with my tit's... $5 gold. HA!
Someone somewhere will come up with a way to film, or showcase the camming world in a beautiful light...with permission...and cam girl approved.
