    Default Protect my knees?

Hey guys, I'm looking for tips on things to wear to protect my knees during floorwork? I know one option is obviously to wear knee-high socks, but I don't think I want the WHOLE sock covering my leg (is cutting them an option?). Are there any stores that sell stuff specifically for this that only cover the knees?

Knee warmers seemed like an alternative as well but not sure they'd be cushy enough.

    Advice is welcome! c:

Do you mean cutting the foot part so the socks are more like leg warmers? I've seen girls do that or just wear leg warmers. If you mean cut them into a piece of fabric that literally just covers your knees, I think that would look pretty ridiculous. There's not really such thing as sexy knee pads. Why are you so against covering your calves? You can take them off once you're done on stage and be bare on the floor - though lots of dudes dig the high socks/thigh high look!

Really, your options are either to wear socks/leg warmers/high boots or do floorwork that puts as little pressure on your knees as possible.

LOL, so true at sexy knee pads. :C

I like the high sock look myself, but I prefer fishnet thigh highs. I guess if it came down to protecting me knees more, though, I'd go with the socks or learning to dance with as little kneeling as possible.

You can do floorwork without serious knee injury/bruising by shifting where you're putting your weight. When you're rolling over your knees try to keep the weight on your thigh right above the knee instead of on the boney part of your knees. You can also keep a lot of the weight on your toes (weight is on your platform tip not your actual toes) and and hands when crawling. So you're kinda planking while you crawl and your knees are sliding on the floor but you're not putting all your weight on your knee.

Takes practice and everyone's body is diff so what works for one girl because of her flexibility and leg size and shape won't work for another. You really have to figure out what works for you.

In addition to ^ try laying in pushup/army crawl position, and sliding around on the toes of your shoes. This sounds completely ridiculous but you will learn how to hold yourself while keeping your knees off the ground. You'll eventually build up upper body muscle enough so you won't ever have to rely on your knees touching the stage. (Except when you're still) This is also how you gracefully move a greater distance while you're laying down on the stage. (So you don't have to stand up every time you want to move, or crawl around like a child). If you're on a granite stage, it will damage stockings while you're learning but you'll be able to wear them for a couple of days without replacing them, thus eliminating socks.

Socks are wonderful, but some clubs don't allow them and omgggg it sucks to go from wearing socks to not being allowed to wear socks.
