Anyone have a Lenovo or have this issue with their computer in general?
I just got the Ideacentre K450 today. This is the second time I've purchased this computer. The first time I purchased it I could hear it constantly restarting and no matter what monitor I used the computer wouldn't detect it. I thought that maybe I got a lemon or the company I got it from dropped it or something. So I sent it back and ordered it from Amazon.
I hooked it up it started up fine...it didn't constantly restart like the last one. But it had the same issue with monitors not being detected. I tried vga, hdmi, and 2 different monitors...nothing worked. Both monitors work with vga and hdmi on my Sony Vaio. I love the specs on this computer and really wanted it to work. When I researched it I didn't see anyone complain about this or have this issue. Has anyone had this or similar issue with Lenovo?

That's weird. I have a Lenovo and I know a bunch of people with them and they completely love them. I've never heard of this issue happening. I personally have a laptop, the ideapad, but it's been going strong for almost 4 years now. I don't think I'll ever use another brand. Have you tried calling IBM? they might be able to help troubleshoot the monitor issue.

Re: Anyone have a Lenovo or have this issue with their computer in general?
Thanks ladies. I figured out what the problem was. It didn't make any sense to me how 2 machines could be defective so I bought a new monitor as a last resort. I hooked it up to the Vga port it didn't work then I hooked it up the dvi port and it worked. So I'm guess the Vga port doesn't work, not sure why they even have it on this computer. The Hdmi port doesn't work either unless the graphic card is updated. I called support prior to figuring all of this out and they said that my computer was defective. They didn't even think to ask what kind of monitor or what port I was using to hook up to the computer. Nor did they know about having to replace the graphic card to get the hdmi to work.
