Default College Dancers I need your advice.

I am not sure what to do with this situation. I am in school and am need of so many things a part time job and experience in the field I would like to work in. I was offered a internship this week and accepted the invitation. The only thing is how will I be able to fit trying to find a job and internship and school. Next semester my classes will be Mondays from 6 till like 9 and on Sat from like 1 to 4. How can I juggle all of this and still get a part time. I know this can be done I just need to know how I can work it all out smoothly and still find work that will work with my sedual. The job that I was actually thinking about doing was dancing or ither babysitting. I finally found hrs that would work with one babysitting job but this offer came up. What should I do Ladies?

The whole point of interning is to gain experience in the field, and hopefully a letter of recommendation. You don't need to have a part-time if you are dancing. Unless your classes are really short, it looks like you're only going half-time? That shouldn't be too much to handle (homework wise) if you intern, dance, and do school. I've done in while converting my classes to honors. Do you still feel you need experience from a part-time job, even though that's the purpose of the internship?

A lot girls who study and work only dance over the weekend. Some even just work Saturday night. Just working one or two nights a week will give you the time and money you need. It will definitely be more profitable and flexible than babysitting.

It can be really hard to manage dancing with school and interning, espescially if you have another job. It depends a lot on how demanding your program is, how many hours of homework you will have outside of class. It's not like you can just roll out of bed and show up to the club like you can to class, or, say babysitting. My program some years took up too much of my time to allow me to dance consistently even once per week, I just didn't have that three hours to do all the hair removal, hair styling, make up, nails etc, and on 4 hours of sleep a night I was in no mood to put on a happy face for the club a lot of the time, this is when an easy vanilla job can come in handy, but it does not give you close to the same income. What worked best for me was dancing my hiney off during the summer while interning and part time during easier parts of each semester (for me this was the first two months). Some summers I didn't intern and had a part time job in my field. Last summer I decided to not get a pt job and just do freelance jobs in my field, it worked out great because I love being my own boss, and it let me gain experience and network, and I had lots of free time to take little trips to dance because dancing in my city suuuucks sometimes. Girls that live in cities with good, reliable, clean dancing money these days are lucky, if your area is not like that having another job you really like takes the edge off significantly, even if it means you have to juggle: your time management skills will thank you later when you're a working mom/wife!

MM makes a great point - you don't need a part-time job on top of dancing if you have an internship (aka truly relevant experience to your field, which part-time jobs aren't usually) and the income from dancing. It sounds like you don't have a lot of class time, though homework and studying can easily eat in to your "free" time. IMO, let your internship take priority because that work experience (and hopefully networking) is going to be most helpful to you come graduation. Then, schedule study time around. Finally, dance when you are able. Ideally, you can work your most lucrative shifts (and let your regulars know when they are so they come to see you then) to maximize your time at the club.

This will be a great exercise in time management, which is a skill that will be useful throughout your life!

Sounds like you'll be working at the club Saturday and Sunday nights. It's perfectly doable.
You have school on Monday in the evening and on Saturday during the afternoon. You can intern during the week and do homework during those evenings. Try it out. Maybe work on Saturdays only... if it gets to be too much... but from the sound of things it doesn't seem too bad.

Two classes? It's perfectly feasible. I took over 20 credit hours for one semester, you're dealing 6 credit hours.... Just be sure to take off time for projects, midterms, and finals. I'd choose dancing over babysitting, personally... but I'm not a great babysitter.

Try things out and see what works for you.
