Question How often do you touch up outgrowth?

For ladies that touch up hair @ home, how often do you do it? Although my hair doesn't seem to show much growth, it seems very soon after I've had it done (last 2 X's professionally, usually I do it myself though)
Ugh I hate doing it though, I have greys so I don't want that showing

whenever i'm stressed i grow pure white hairs, god i hate it lol. my hair and nails grow very fast, so if i want absolutely NO root show-through then every two weeks. usually i'm very lazy and cheap about it though

Same. Two weeks if I want to hide my roots. Usually more like 4weeks. I've never minded a little bit of roots.

What color do you dye your hair? I dye mine blonde and even though I prefer it right after I touch it up I'm taking advantage of the visible root trend. Last time I went 8 weeks and I was astonished that customers were telling me not to bother touching it up. I figured roots/ombre was more of a girl thing but I guess it's so mainstream now that even guys like it. Might as well save some time/money while it lasts.

I used to always do highlights with a base around every 5-6 weeks (am naturally much darker and currently almost platinum) but I haven't been to the salon in almost 3 months now, the longest in a while... I did a toner about 3-4 weeks back that lightened my roots a tiny bit and made the rest of my hair a tiny bit darker (almost washed out already) and that really helped make it look more natural and on trend.

I have been blonde for most of my adult life and my natural color is dark brown. i hate the fact that I have to spend so much money and time at the salon, but I just look much better as a blonde.

Hairdressers recommend that you dye it every 5-6 weeks (roughly) otherwise you can get "banding" (the regrowth is bigger and harder to dye/match to the colour of the rest of your hair). My hair doesn't grow quickly either, I usually touch mine up every 2 months.

True, I do have some banding after waiting 8 weeks. It shouldn't be a huge issue if you use a toner afterward though, unless you want stark white hair. On a kind of tangent, I used to be obsessed with having white hair but I switched to a more conventional platinum when I started doing it myself, and not a single person noticed the difference until I pointed it out. Makes me wish I never bothered!

Wish I could maintain stark white but my hair is so fragile at that color. Takes to much bleach and damage to get it there. Can't put in extensions at that color just breaks my hair :-(

And while I will agree most people can't tell the diff, it's one of those personal things.

I used to do my own bleaching & toning, but that was when my hair was much shorter (lol, it's still short). I had a hard time not overlapping, so i had breakage, hence why i kept it short.

(I have managed several salon and spas and got sooooooo spoiled getting free hair services that it is sooooo hard justifying paying so much. womp womp)

I wish I was disciplined enough that I could keep the roots fresh every 2 weeks. BUT....I get more compliments and attention having my regrowth. I know though that once my hair is longer, soulder length, that I will not have the dark roots.

I do my color about every 3 months. Pretty long, actually

I have been doing my own roots once a month- my natural color is dark brown, almost black. I dye it blonde, and because my hair grows so fast, and is waist length, I really should do it every 15 days or so. I hate the look of roots, for some reason. makes me feel dirty somehow. I wear wigs while camming and dancing, because my own hair is straight, but guys like curly hair on me. Go figure!

My real color is dark brown and I have it dyed in red, very difficult color to keep. For roots and overall color maintenance I go to the salon every 6 to 7 weeks. At home I use a coloring conditioner from time to time.

I can't be bothered at home... So I go every 8 weeks. By the 6 week mark, I'm not able to wear it half up since the roots are SO obvious and it makes me look like I have a black ring around my head, but I don't think they look THAT terrible if it's just on the top of your head.

My natural color is dark blond but I bleach to platinum, and I probably touch up my roots every 2-4 weeks. I hate the look of regrowth and really don't care if it's in style lol

Yes, I am trying to motivate myself to do them today, while I have the time! Plus last time (only 2 wks ago) I missed a lot too

Every 4-5 weeks. I may be able to go longer since I have curly hair, it tends to blend roots better. But, since my hair is dark blond, my grays show up a bit more than if I was lighter.

Ever 3 weeks for crazy white bleached hair is the max amount of outgrowth I'll allow. It's too contrasty and it drives me nuts if I don't dye it.
